Computer question ..... I have an e mac.
For some reason I can not get Safari up. Everytime I click on the
icon the bar reads safari but then I get a message that says "The
application Safari has unexpectedly quit." And I have to
use Mozilla as my browser .... it sucks.

So how do I get my Mac to run Safari?

Thanks

1. try opening it from your hard drive applications' folder
it may be that easy.

2. How funny. My ex was having the same problem as you
with the computer I gave him. I gave him an iMac DV indigo, and had upgraded the RAM to 512mb as a bonus. It should have worked perfectly, but he had the exact same problem. He's using Explorer, now, much to my dismay. (I hate Microsoft)

3. Without knowing what version of what you have...
...here are some general tactics.

1) Go to System Preferences->Software Update, click the button to check for updates manually, and see if it offers a Safari update. However, if you got Safari by downloading and installing it yourself recently (as in it's never run on your machine before), you might have an old OSX version with a 'too new' Safari.

2) Run the 'Console' application in /Applications->Utilities, and see what message, if any, shows up when you try to run Safari. PM me with it, or post it here. I maintain a network of, and write software for Macs for a living, and I've seen about everything. Almost.

Without knowing more (what OSX version, what Safari version, did this just start happening, or are you trying a new version, etc...), that's about the best I can do.

ps. I'd get Firefox. I switched from Safari to Firefox last year, and it seems to run a lot better than Safari after being used for hours on end. At least it does for me.
