I am SO looking forward to the 8/2 Rachel Maddow show
(Accuracy in Media's) Kincaid: Media Matters and..."a lesbian with hair so short that she looks like a man" -- responsible for The Situation's poor ratings

...Kincaid correctly noted that The Situation is averaging only 200,000 viewers...but suggested that..."The problem...is the format, which places too much emphasis on (Tucker Carlson's) guests, including ...Rachel Maddow," an Air America Radio host whom he described as "a lesbian with hair so short that she looks like a man." Kincaid went on to claim that Media Matters "dictated" the show's format by writing a letter to MSNBC...encouraging the network "to allow some progressive voices to be heard...This is apparently how Maddow got to be a regular..."

While Media Matters did send a letter...asking for balance on Carlson's show..(it)...specifically pointed out that "a discussion between two conservatives and one progressive is not 'balanced'"...The Situation's initial format was precisely the one that Media Matters recommended against...(Therefore) it can hardly be said that we "dictated" the show's format...

I must confess that I wasn't happy about her gig--in fact, I suspect Rachel was hired precisely because her being gay would give her a built-in credibility problem. I think the show's problem is that it's such a blantant ripoff of ESPN's Pardon The Interruption, it's impossible to take it either seriously or entertainingly. To make matters worse, they've had ESPN boxing commentator Max Kellerman as a guest!

Anyhow, I'm looking forward to what she has to say about this on her Tuesday 8/2 show. It's at 5AM EST--though I usually download it when I get to work, it might be worth it to get up early enough to hear it live, LOL!

2. they're right - two conservatives versus one progressive is not balanced
it should be five conservatives, minimum, versus one progressive. As many as they need to match the brain power of the progressive.

Poor fools don't even realize how obvious they look trying to improve their position by outnumbering their opponents.

3. Maddow owns Carlson with regularity on his own show.
She brings facts and sources. Carlson doesn't know how to respond when she pimp-slaps him every single night.

4. At first, Carlson was more libertarian.
My wife and I found ourselves occasionally agreeing with him (though not always on the same issues). Then after a couple of weeks he became a dick again. I think if he lost ratings it's because he's letting his true colors shine through. Maybe since Severin's gone he has to take up the slack.

I liked a couple of last week's shows that had Carlson, Maddow and Rev. Sharpton. So SOMETIMES they change the balance around.

6. His Bolton opinion tonight....
He said that Bolton was not a neo-con and was OPPOSED to the war because he's just not that kinda warmonger. The Dem's don't like him just because he's mean. I thought Rachael was going to strangle him.

7. oh, pooh-Rachel doesn't mention it
She was too upset by the Human Events magazine's list of the worst government programs, including medicare, social security, and internal revenue system. Maybe she'll mention it tomorrow.

8. The format of the show sucks..
Unless you're looking at the screen, with the assistance of seeing who is going to interrupt next, you would need an interpreter to know what they are saying...All I hear is blah..blah...blah..on 78rpm...
