Bolton to reform the UN? Gimme a break!
It's ludicrous to think a hot head like Bolton will reform the UN or even to suggest his version of "reform" is needed by the UN. That's a smack in the face of the other UN countries, it's as if we are saying "we're sending in a bad ass to play hardball and get you assholes in line." The UN will put him in the corner and will refer to him in private as "the stupid American." What a bad decision.

1. bush thought we needed a "deformer"........
and that's exactly what he went looking for and got. A man who's deformed mind will further isolate America as the world's biggest bully.

Edited on Tue Aug-02-05 07:18 AM by votesomemore
how in heaven's name a bunch of criminals can lay claim to "reform" is way beyond me. Exactly who thumbed their nose at the U.N. two climacteric years ago? Who among those with any kind of so-called authority in our nation gives a little shit about the U.N. .. or national pride and preservation. Who? No fucking anybody.

Bush has got to go. This atrocity cannot endure. Affirmative.

3. Like Yosemite Sham is going to make a DAMN bit of difference . . .
He behaves like he does - like a spoiled little bitch who isn't getting his candy, the rest of the world will just laugh loudly at his dumb ass. He's just there to make a case against Iran but what's going to happen is that the US will become more isolationist than they already are.

Lancelot Link doesn't get that he's not very fashionable in the world's, or even AMERICA's eyes. The timing on this couldn't be worse. We need another batshit wacko in a position of power like the rich need another tax cut.

5. Bolton Will Be...
<< The UN will put him in the corner and will refer to him in private as "the stupid American." >>

... a persona non grata. Bush's playmate will find out that you have to earn respect and influence... not simply DEMAND it or BULLY people into it.

6. For sure...
the entire U.N. will see Bolton as the Representative of the fascist arm of the elitist party of America. He won't accomplish a thing without lots of money. His back door appointment shows the world he does not rep. the American people.

7. don't you imagine
he has some kind of connections? Of the sleeziest order.

Of course no one will take the dolt seriously! No one has taken us seriously for the past several years. At least. Maybe never.

Although the "impeachment" of Clinton was just so much tripe, cigar-gate (instigated by the wingers) did nothing to endear ourselves to the world at large.

It just follows that we would end up with a monster at the so-called helm after that total folly.

Jeeziz. Can someone get a GRIP!

8. So glad to see the DUers here in solidarity
I can see no good in any of dubby's or bolton's reforms. What needs to reform is * and his neocons. Let us all just hope and pray that the UN as our last line of defense will not follow the BFEE regime. Now we need an even more powerful UN to help stabilize America.

9. Bolton is there to make sure that the UN doesn't monitor the 2006
election in the US. The GOPers know that if they lose control of congress in 2006 Bush is toast!
