WorldNetDaily: "Aug 6: Nuke terror to strike U.S. by this weekend?"
Edited on Tue Aug-02-05 08:33 AM by Junkdrawer
WASHINGTON – Intelligence gathered from captured al-Qaida documents and interrogations of captured operatives has provided the U.S. with some specific information about Osama bin Laden's favored dates for his decade-long plan for an "American Hiroshima" nuclear terrorist attack – and one of those dates arrives this week.

One of the most frequently cited dates is Aug. 6, the anniversary of the U.S. nuclear bombing of Hiroshima. Saturday marks the 60th anniversary of that attack, so this Aug. 6 would have special significance, reports Joseph Farah's G2 Bulletin, the premium, online intelligence newsletter that has broken several major stories tracking al-Qaida's nuclear terrorism plans.

An amateur sleuth, Michael Matuszak, points out, for instance, that Saturday would also mark the 1,426 days since Sept. 11, 2001. He points out that, in the Islamic calendar, this is the year 1426 – and that Aug. 6 would be the first day of the seventh month, the exact midway point of the year 1426.

"It is as if Bin Laden started by scheduling 'American Hiroshima' for 8-6-2005 and then worked backwards to arrive at 9-11-2001 as the precursor," he speculates.

.....

Well then, Bolton was just in time, huh?...

Everytime I hear that Bushboy is going on vacation, I cringe a bit.

As far as this article goes, well it is WorldNetDaily, just one step above Weekly World News, but still and all, I wouldn't be suprised. And if this does go down, well kiss America goodbye. Martial law will be declared, and we will officially be through the looking glass, living in a fascist state. And all of us demonic liberals will be rounded up as enemy combatants for a nice little indefinite stay at Gitmo.

Let's just hope that this is more of WND's traditional blowing of smoke. Otherwise:scared:

citizens are fairly liberal in their opinions - not that the media would remind us of this. No, while I think a nuclear attack on US soil would almost certainly lead to Martial Law in many places, the whole 'Gitmo Roundup' thing is just to intimidate the opposition into silence.

That being said, the "Patriot" laws do address a concern of theirs: It would be fairly inevitable that months or years after such an attack, a small but violent minority would emerge that would want to overthrow a government they might see as complicit in such an attack. Those are the folks who are destined for Gitmo.

And, once again, yes, I know it's WorldNetDaily...

25. You have more faith in the conservative's tolerance for liberal than I
I have watched as slowly, but surely, liberals and intellectuals are degraded and demonized over the past twenty years. The speed of this has picked up greatly since Bushco gained office, and quite frankly I think that if Bushco's wet dream came true and martial law was declared, much like under Hitler's regime, the detainments would begin with the liberals and intellectuals, whom the right now despise with their whole being.

Let us hope that we never have to find out.

3. I've been hearing about the nukes for the past couple of weeks.
Of course, most of it I heard on Coast to Coast AM, so you have to take that with a grain of salt.

18. Numerology relies on magic. This is more like armchair psychology
"What Would Osama Do?"

WorldNet Daily reminds me of Batman and Robin (in the TV series) sitting in the batcave pondering Riddler's clues.

Batman: What does an elephant never forget?
Robin: Elephants never forget anything.
Batman:That's right! What does an elephant never forget? To never forget!
Robin: Holy Pachyderm, Batman! An elephant always remembers to never forget! Does that mean...
Batman: Yes, Robin... Riddler's hide-out is in the scrap-booking store!

Miller Time (Again)
The New York Times owes readers an explanation for Judith Miller's faulty WMD reporting.

Judy's turn to cry
Michael Massing flushes New York Times reporter Judith Miller out of her spider hole this week with "Now They Tell Us," a 7,000-word analysis in the New York Review of Books about the press corps' failure to see through the Bush administration's weapons of mass destruction hype. Writes Massing:

In the period before the war, US journalists were far too reliant on sources sympathetic to the administration. Those with dissenting views—and there were more than a few—were shut out. Reflecting this, the coverage was highly deferential to the White House. This was especially apparent on the issue of Iraq's weapons of mass destruction—the heart of the President's case for war. Despite abundant evidence of the administration's brazen misuse of intelligence in this matter, the press repeatedly let officials get away with it.

17. This is the same reputable source that said
that there are already 40 nukes in place across the country.

Probably the same script writer that created that silly fluff "Stealth". You know, the terrists have the wherewithal to acquire 4 nuke warheads and scuds to launch then, but they transport the nukes by ox-cart.

Not even an attempt at being rational.

I also doubt whether any specific date is picked out for any reason other than it is convenient for all involved.
