Kudos to Howard and Robyn for finding this goody. Anyone remember that lame TV show Rushbo had? It'd be fun to find some of those old shows and see how Mr. Oxyhead squares with what he says or does now.

For example, a long time ago, a radio host asked Mr. Limbaugh if he thought a radio show should be used to promote a political party or agenda. Mr. Limbaugh said not only that radio shouldn't be that way...it should always have a variety of opinions. I recently found that tape...recoreded in 1988...with tons of Rush contradictions...but then he wasn't as famous as he was today.

I remember him fear mongering about "saddam as anthrax' and the sort. ..and Robin was debating..Wesley Snipes I think, and he was against the Iraq war, and she barked at him the words .."Well then why don't you just pick which two towers you want to come down next, if you don't want to invade Iraq"

Sure it's funny to rip druggie Rush, but after all, Rush took some drugs, he broke a minor law. Howard supported a war based on lies, and now has flip floped and is pretending it was never that way.

Perhaps Rush would like to pull those Howard Quotes.

I think that's Howard's appeal and influence. He genuinely is someone who was swayed by the jingoistic rhetoric, but game to see that it was bullshit as time passed. I'm not a big Howard Stern fan myself (kind of a "listen if it's already on" relationship), but I think that taking that road has actually made him more effective now. It's just a shame it took him so long to get there.
