"[Bolton's] mission is now to help the U.N. reform itself"
Edited on Tue Aug-02-05 10:42 AM by bigtree
Bush: "I told the nation that John Bolton would provide clear American leadership for reform at the United Nations."

Help the U.N. reform? Is this the sole providence of the U.S.? By what authority? By what right? Our U.N. dues were in arrears for years and only recently given a nudge by Congress. Does Bush claim the right to reform the U.N. according to his imperialist ambitions because of our military force?

This is a strongarm foreign policy by the world's most dangerous fascist. The U.N. will not benefit from manipulation by the Bush cabal's heavy hand. In this deliberative body, might shouldn't make right.

But that's just the way it goes - bush and his voices.

3. They won't bend to our will

I'm surprised that they even acknowledge us given our snub that led us into the destabilizing occupation of Iraq. Countries with similar ambitions to conquer like Russia are more than happy to see us brush aside the collective governance of the institution. We've set out to reform them alright, to bend to Bush's hunger for conquest.

4. it's truly scary and Bush and company need to be stopped by
whatever means... I keep hoping that his last outrage will be the straw but somehow nothing seems to be able to gain the necessary traction.

Of course I believe that most politicians are complicit with big corps and that barring some form of social and economic revolt, nothing will change and we'll be back to where we were prior to the Depression and Organized Labor...
