Just saw a heartbreaking story on the Niger famine (World News Today)
For Chrissakes, look at the billions we spend on war while children are dying horribly of starvation! Where is all the concern from those who make their political hay touting a "culture of life"?

Is there nothing we can do to pressure our own govt to provide immediate emergency supplies of food and medicines to Niger? What action could we take, and what relief organizations are the best to donate to for this crisis?

Isn't it nice how national resources are used for the benefit of all the People? "Let them eat (yellow)cake." :puke:

That doctor was AMAZING! He's the kind of person I'd love to be acquainted with.

2. Culture of Life only applies to Christians with no sins
The "culture of life" concept only seems to apply to white Christian
women who are brain dead.

Remember this was the same group that ignored Sun Hudson in Texas, a little boy who was disconnected from life support, but then again he was black and his mother didn't have as pristine a reputation as Mrs.
Schivo.

There is no culture of life in this country, and the 'Christians' on the right aren't.

This goes to show that while the religious fanatics love teaching us about Biblical laws, they have no interest in Biblical principles, as the bumpber sticker says.

3. I saw that too...makes you wonder why we're pumping 5bn per month
into Iraq...

We could be feeding those people.

It would be the 'christian' thing to do, no?

4. Feed and house the mothers, and the babies eat for free

and get "the best food for them"..mother's milk.. There is no good reason for any baby in a 3rd world country to use formula..all that's necessary is for the mother to be able to feed her baby..

I still remember how Nestle came along and convinced mothers that their babies would be healthier if they took formula..they gave it to them and then once their own milk dried up they HAD to feed the babies formula..mixed with polluted water most of the time, and of course they started cutting down on the powder mixture to stretch it..no wonder the babies get malnourished..
