Oprah - First Arnold, now Condi
http://www.oprah.com/

It appears we're all pretty angry lately. How about directing your
anger at Oprah? You know how much influence she has on women.
She suggests a book and it flys to the best seller list.

Her Arnold love in was truly disgusting. The next day she just
happened to visit Rob Lowe's house, because it was in Architectural
Digest, but couldn't resist asking about his involvement in Arnold's
run for Governor. Rob let her down - said he's always been a
democrat, Arnold's a friend who asked for his help but he's been
really busy with his new show. Poor Oprah, you could see the
disappointment on her face.

Well, guys, now Condi is booked for her show. Oprah loves mail -
please, let her have it. Her blatant agenda is truly disturbing as
she is a very powerful woman. Her message board on the Arnold show
is amazing - 99% really let her have it. Come on guys, DU Oprah,
she deserves it and it's important she stops whoring for this
Administration.

1. Oprah can afford $$ to be ignorant of reality.
Why any African-American would vote Republican or support the current administration is beyond my comprehension. So many policies of this Administration are designed to screw the poor and minorities.

Compassionate conservatism. Yeah, right. Compassionate to the Enrons of the world, maybe.

3. You assume a lot
Who said Oprah voted Republican. If you guys have any kind of memory you would know her show probably provided one of the more objective venues for objective debate of the war.

Why any African-American would vote Republican or support the current administration

I'm upset that she is giving them free press NOW and lobbing softballs at them when they're on her show.

It gives them a free forum to say whatever they want people to believe, and millions of people will see it.

Edit: and I don't see where I said that she voted Republican. I said that I was surprised that any African-American would vote Republican because Bush's policies are so anti-minority.

2. Oprah, you shamful....
"BITCH"!!! My mother is furious at her for having the Groper Boy on her show, especially after she condemned Clinton for his affairs!

She is a hypocrit and we need to show her that we will not take this crap by changing the channel!

5. You know, I really think it's unnecessary to call Oprah a bitch.
Truly, completely unnecessary, and counterproductive to the goals of the DU Forums, in my opinion.

I may not agree with her spotlighting of Republicans, but calling her "the B word" is just ridiculous.

4. Oprah's show seems to be balanced
I didn't get upset when she had Barbara Lee and Madeline Albright on her show. She is not suppose to only have Democrats or people I like.

6. Never right before an election..
Barbara Lee, Madeline Albright were not running for office. To
have Arnold on the show, right after they were talking about
his non-popularity with women in the State of California, was ill
timed. If she wanted Arnold on, she should have waited until after
the election because her show was an endorsement by Oprah for Arnold.

He is up in the polls now - California is a democratic State, which
will now be turned over to the right. I give Oprah a big thank
you for that - I'm sure she gained him lots of support.

10. It is not Oprah's fault that many CA voters are stupid.
If CA is a democratic state then a democrat will win.

It doesn't matter when she had them on as long as she had them on. If I didn't complain then I am not going to complain now. Condi is not running for office so why are you complaining about her being on.

7. She is a billionaire, so perhaps she wants lower tax rates
but just because she's not a republican, it doesn't mean she shouldn't allow them on her show.

The vast majority of americans, particularly women, do admire Dr. Rice, and I'm sure that Oprah, even though she might be more liberal than her, also admires her

they are probably the 2 most influential black women on the planet ever

12. That was nothing - You should have seen her show on Iraq....
TOTALLY one-sided. I was STUNNED. After all of her fans berated her - she then had a second one where she pretended that both sides were being presented....

14. Barbara Lee and Madeline Albright
Big deal - how far apart were their appearances? We have Arnold and
Condi within a few weeks of one another. Albright and Lee are not
people running the country as Condi is. Bush's poll numbers are
dropping, so they'll get one of their big guns on Oprah, throw
powder puff questions at her and Condi will come out smelling like a
rose. There's a big difference between an appearance on Larry King
and Oprah - Oprah is very powerful, woman admire her and respect
her opinion. If Oprah gives a thumbs up to someone, a lot of
women will too which means more votes for Bush come 2004 and more
lies which they will believe because they heard them on Oprah's
show.

Although, about Oprah's show on Iraq, I personally didn't think it was one-sided.
