Ed Schultz is really getting freeped today. A caller just said
universal health care is insane. That Canadians don't like their health care system.

Another doesn't like Hackett because his only platform is anti-abortion.

12. Could it have meant
that the CALLER's only platform is anti-abortion?

Was forced to listen to Ed in the car earlier today - he spent
the entire time I was listening trashing the Dems for not supporting Hackett - what a first class sob.

6. Which Dems was he referring to? The DNC and DCCC supported
Hacket and so did Democracy for America and other grassroots groups.

10. He was referring to the DNC and kept asking why some of the
former and current Presidental candidates had not been in to help Hackett. I recall that Clarke campagined for Hackett but Ed did not seem to know it. Also, I am pretty certain that Kerry or Gore or Clinton coming into that district in Ohio would not be helpful. The problem with Ed is that he actually is not a Dem but usually hides it better than he did today.

He was already blaming Democrats for fact that Hackett will likely lose. He said the fact that it is a largely Repug seat does not matter - the Dems had failed once again. He is the biggest ass on radio.

Max Cleland and John Glenn both visited Hackett to help him campaign earlier this week or late last week.

27. I like Ed.
He's only been a Dem for 3 or 4 years. Some of his head is still in the Repub frame of mind. I think he looks for more unity than we have sometimes. And he expects more out of the Dem leaders, just as some here do.

I'll never forget how he screamed at a caller that he was unAmerican because he supported Americans torturing Iraqis.

Ed's alright by me. He's just not left enough for some. But he's alright.

17. DFA was there, Susie Turnbull, DNC vice chair, was there.
I guess Big Eddie doesn't know how to tell one dem from the other.

I could write Wendy and tell her Howard Dean was in Birmingham today, and she would say big ed never apologizes.

I did not listen, don't know who he meant. Send him to the DNC front page...Hackett's pic is all over there.

It sounds like the Freeptards are terrified that Hackett may win.

I pray that Hackett does win.

5. Is Big Ed handling them OK?
Just like democracy, Universal health care is the worst kind of health care, but it is better than all the other health care systems.

Hackett on abortion:
He tied his logic for gun ownership to his stance on abortion (pro-choice) as being "just as I don't want the government in your gun safe, I don't want it in your bedroom."

14. I know some DU'ers don't like Ed Schultz but the fact is...
he has pulled a lot of people from mid-America over to our side.
He speaks their language.

I think that's pretty damned significant.

IMHO

26. Yes-- that's a fair assessment of where he falls on the political
spectrum. Even though the electoral process has been
corrupted, I think it's important to keep our base
growing. I only hope that one day we'll get rid of
the e-voting machines and have legitimate elections.

That's the bottom line.

24. Hear, hear!!
Edited on Wed Aug-03-05 12:09 AM by ailsagirl
I have listened to him on occasion at work and, I have to
say, I think there are fewer commercial breaks-- or, at least,
the breaks don't last as long as those on AAR.

Which is nice.

But I've been amazed over how quickly the time passes when
I tune in to Big Eddie-- I'm always interested to hear what
callers have to say.

:)
