Vanity Fair to Reveal More on Sibel Edmonds' Case
Edited on Tue Aug-02-05 04:44 PM by calipendence
Looks like Vanity Fair is going to be putting out a piece on Sibel Edmond's case shortly. Stay tuned for her for an announcement any day now on her appeal to the Supreme Court too. A lot of new stuff should be coming out shortly!

And additionally, Skinner just a short time ago just put in place the new DU group "Sibel Edmonds and Other Whistleblowers" at:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topics&forum=344

It's pretty empty at this point, but I'll be putting some threads in there shortly to gather historical links on Sibel Edmonds, NSWBC group, and many other whistleblowers. Those who want to help direct me to some stuff that we should add to historical threads send me an email. I'll look to see if we can get the "master" threads pinned at the top.

Anyway, it sounds like there is some more info coming out in this interview:

Vanity Fair to Reveal More on Sibel Edmonds' Case

The new issue of Vanity Fair is coming out with a major piece on FBI whistleblower Sibel Edmonds' case. The 11-page article is in the issue that hits newsstands in New York City tomorrow (Wednesday).

The article, by British journalist David Rose, promises to have new revelations beyond "the tip of the iceberg."

Edmonds, "the most gagged woman in history," is appealing to the US Supreme Court on Thursday to allow her to talk about what she knows about pre-9/11 intelligence failures.

when the best investigative reporting of the past year is all done by a fashion magazine. (not that this is a bad thing mind you, I'm just wondering where the MSM is on this)

edited for clarification

9. AWESOME!
This is good news! So much is going wrong for the Bush group. Maybe this is why Bush is working fast and appealing to the fundie group again! He always does that when his raitings or low or something else bad. That way his base can shrug it off and say "at least the gays still can't marry." :eyes:

11. Yeah baby!!!
Missing pieces of the puzzle? We've got Plame, Bolton, and DSM on the table and here comes Sibel, who translated obviously very sensitive information having to do with foreign countries, money laundering, drug and weapons trade, and 9/11. She said that significant government officials will go to jail!

I wonder how much info she'll feel safe in giving out?

14. Anybody pick a copy of this up yet?...
I presume it's the September issue. On Vanity Fair's web site, they still have up the August issue, with nothing of her in there. I'm guessing it's due for an update soon.

From the POGO Blog, indicates that both L.A. and NY residents can pick up a copy of this magazine today at newstands...

Vanity Fair Profiles Sibel Edmonds

The September edition of Vanity Fair hits the news stands today in New York and Los Angeles. Although the media buzz centers on a cover story concerning Jennifer Aniston’s break up with Brad Pitt, deeper inside the magazine is an article more worthy of the public’s attention. Rumor has it that an article by reporter David Rose offers a groundbreaking description of disturbing events at the FBI’s translation unit as observed by former translator Sibel Edmonds. Rose’s sources appear to be among the many authorities to which Edmonds has appealed for help in her journey as a whistleblower. Of greatest concern is the article’s reporting that an FBI counterintelligence investigation into “attempts to bribe elected members of Congress, both Democrat and Republican” was redirected to focus instead on appointed officials.

Here is what the magazine cover looks like for those looking for it:

Vanity Fair's site indicates that it will be nationally on news stands on August 9th.
