50 trips to Crawford in 4 1/2 years
Edited on Tue Aug-02-05 09:23 PM by yvr girl
(According to CNN Broadcast)

That's just crazy. I know technically, a President is never really off duty, but still. Bush has certainly MASTERED vacation time.

Anyone have any idea what it costs to fly a 747 from DC to Texas and back?

8. It costs $58,600 to fly for one hour...
Fifty round trips at about four hours per leg would be close to $12,000,000. Of course, this does not take into account the huge costs of security personnel and security improvements to the Pig Farm at Crawford.

5. Keep in mind that some of those trips were of one-month duration.
And that doesn't include his trips to Kennebunkport and Camp David.

6. One can get AWAY from IT ALL
at the Imperial Pig Farm Upon Crawford.

Just the kind of cozy place for a Connecticut Yankee Preppy Cheerleader with an embarassing AWOL record, and a stolen and failed pResidency.

7. and don't forget those embarrassing faux-Western extravaganzas
The ones with the on-site chuckwagon and the singing cowboys. I guess Bush doesn't realize that visitors like President Putin can barely conceal their laughter!

"Just I had a hard time imagining how could a living person create such a masterpiece of cooking. A fantastic meal. And when I said so to the President, he said, indeed, this cannot be done except for in Texas."

14. I can deal with Camp David
At least it's close to DC. It was designed to be a weekend getaway.

9. What do you expect from loser garbage like Boosh?
No one REALLY want him to try and work at being POTUS, because they know his record...failure after failure after failure. I would bet good money Boosh is one of the biggest failures in American history.

10. A friend of mine just got back...
...from three weeks visiting his folks in Fort Worth.
He did a road trip to Crawford and other parts of west Texas.
He brought back a ton of pictures.
Man, that is one butt-ugly part of the world.
Depressed and isolated, lots of abandoned property.
NOT what I would call an ideal vacation spot!
Unless you own the place, I guess...

12. Bush is probably snortling over how he was able to buy the land ...
I don't think that even he could have afforded it, if the area had been doing well economically and the farmers/ranchers had been prospering.
