I haven't seen a 12-year-old girl yet who could pass for 21. If any exists, I doubt that any can convince a man she works as a stripper. Given Richards' credibility - or rather the lack of it - we might safely assume that he pursued a relationship with a 12- year-old girl because he didn't think there was anything wrong with it. The girl might have engaged in it because she saw nothing wrong with it, either.

That's a reflection of a downward shift in society's moral values that has been going on since at least the 1960s. In an America where our children are inundated with sexual images daily and what can be called "the hoochification of the country" continues at a rapid pace, why wouldn't 12-year-old girls think they're ready for sex with grown men?

In a nation where some have seriously argued that 12-year- old girls have the "right" to an abortion - and that they have the "right" not to notify their parents - why wouldn't some girls interpret that to mean they have an engage-in-sex-and-escape-the-consequences-free card?

And why wouldn't men in their 20s feel it means that 12- year-old girls are ripe for the picking?

This is where a "baby mama" culture leaves us. Richards used the term several times when Childs interrogated him. Although he was a bit more grammatically correct when he referred to the mother of his two children as his "babies' mother," he used another term that shows our downward shift in morality.

No longer are we a country where grown men consider 12- year-old girls off-limits. No longer are we a nation of husbands and wives with children, but of baby mamas and baby daddies.

A Denton County constable drove to a Colorado restaurant on Thursday and called a woman he met through the Internet to let her know he had arrived, according to court papers.

Instead of Marsha showing up with her 8-year-old daughter for a sexual encounter, he met her colleagues – Cañon City, Colo., police officers.

Larry Dale Floyd, a 62-year-old constable from The Colony, was arrested on suspicion of soliciting to have sex with a child and was charged with seven related crimes, Cañon City police said.

22. I do agree with one point.

The "hootchification" of our children. Having tried to buy decent clothes for my daughter and failed over and over again only to go over to the boy's section to get them--and she's only 5--makes me so mad. I'm glad her school has uniforms--made school shopping the easiest yet this year.

You wouldn't believe the clothes that places like Target (places we can afford) sell for toddler girls. It's disgusting. Basically streetwalker outfits (I even saw fishnet stockings once, I kid you not) for babies. Once, I picked up a pair of jeans that had some butterflies embroidered on them (DD likes butterflies) only to find out that, instead of a snap and zipper at the fly, it had fake leather lacing up the fly. When I looked closer at the fit, they were low-slung, tight-fitting, and had leather lacing up the leg for a ways, too. Size? 4T! Now, I could see a college girl wearing those or even a high schooler, but a four year old?!

Now that she's in bigger sizes, it's worse. This summer, it was super-short shorts and t-shirts and tanks with sexual sayings on them--and this was in the 4-6X sizes!

Sorry to rant, but he's got a point about how we sexualize our little girls.
