Bob Graham and John Edwards - Now for Something Totally Different

Gosh, nobody's bashing my two favorite candidates, I feel so left out.

But seriously, I like these two guys and I'm going to tell you why (try to not to faint ok)

John Edwards - bright, articulate, and seems like a geniunely nice man. Seems comitted to education and rooting out corporate fraud.

Bob Graham - the only person in the Senate who seems hell-bent on finding out what really happened on 9/11 and gives Bush hell. Best resume of the entire Dem crowd. Governor, Senator, etc.

Now, I don't happen to think either of these guys stands much of a chance, but they would be great members of a Dem. administration. Maybe as even VP choices, but certainly Edwards as AG and Graham as Sec of Defense or State.

And hell, while I'm at it. I like Sharpton because he says what he means and is damm funny. And CMB has an outstanding commmand of the issues which are at the core of the Democratic party. I'd like to see her run for Senate again or be another member of a Dem. administration.

Gosh - that was easy and if I took a little more time, I could come up with a reason(s) to vote for any of the candidates over Bushy McFlysuit

1. Gephardt or Edwards have to be VP, or we lose the general election

If we don't have solid union support and solid populism in the South we are screwed. Clark/Gephardt, Dean/Gephardt, Dean/Edwards , Clark/Edwards - I'll hold my nose for that!

4. Edwards Has Made a Good Impression On Me Lately

As the kind of Southern Gentleman who doesn't give off a whiff of arrogance. When I saw him on TDS when he declared, and Friday night on Real Time, there was this kind of "my handlers talked me into doing this, I hope I don't say something really stupid" vibe he gave off, seemed kinda cute.

More importantly, at the last debate, he came off as someone who gives a damn.

Graham strikes me as the sincerest of the bunch.

5. I Still Think Gore Should Have Picked Graham for VP

instead of Joe Lieberman. There is just something about both of these men that says character and ethics to me. Not that any of the others don't have that.

It is beyond obvious that Gore would be President today had he picked Edwards to be VP.

I would love to know who put the pressure on him not to pick Edwards.

10. Well the "Official" Story I Heard

was to offset the "inexperince" factor being thrown back at a Gore/Edwards ticket when the Dems were trying to pin that on W and Dick. Didn't make much difference.

However, when I say should have picked Graham as VP, I mean that by his resume, Graham was more qualified than anyone else (IMHO) and I also didn't know enough about Edwards then. But I do now and he's a great one.

However, I stongly suspect he is running for VP. But that's okay.

15. one thing about Bob that has always impressed be is the job for a day

thing...he has been spending a day, working a different job, to get the feel of it for his entire career. ditch digger, waiter ...al kinds of jobs, just for the experience of it. i respect him for making that effort to try and unserstand what most of us go through in a day.

16. I'm liking Edwards a lot more too.

The more I see him, particularly during the debates, the more I like him. When he spoke about the Bush administration trying to shift the tax burden from "wealth to work" that really resonated with me. He's one of the only candidates for president that I've ever heard who's able to rephrase that issue in such a way that I think will have more meaning for people. Every presidential race, the dems bring this up, but it never seems to sink in. Edwards is saying it in a new, compelling, and concise way that seems to get the message across a lot more effectively than anyone else I've heard.

6. I was impressed with both of them in the last debate.

John Edwards - much more impressive than I expected in the last debate. He really seems to have "it", and I'm surprised he isn't doing better in the polls. People have labeled him as "inexperienced", but I really didn't see that in the debate.

Bob Graham - impressed with him, as well. Excellent point about the resume', plus he's from Florida. And, we all know we need Florida!

I thought Kucinich did a good job, too. He obviously believes in what he is saying and has no fear in putting forth positions that he knows could be unpopular.

says what he means and again speaks to the core principles of the Democratic party.

14. I really like Edwards.

I think he has a very good grasp of what it means to NOT be born into power in America. I think he also has a very good chance of going quite far as a genuine Leftish Populist.

If he isn't VP this time around it's our loss. Actually the fact that he's got little support now is our loss.

Of anyone out there now he's the one my money is behind in 2008 if 2004 goes to hell in a bucket.
