As best as I can understand it, the sniper group was surrounded and overrun.
How come there's not enough troops for flank security? Snipers are supposed to have lots of security. How come no air/chopper support?

How come there are no engineers sweeping the roads?

How come there are no night-vision patrols to keep the "bad guys" from setting up ambushes and IED's?

Sounds to me like there aren't enough Marines to accomplish the mission.

Sounds to me like the higher-ups have fucked up bigtime.

Sounds to me like the press isn't questioning any of the higher-ups.
