Question for those who follow dailykos (his stance on election fraud)

I don't follow dailykos. But back after the November election, I remember hearing here that 'Kos didn't believe in election fraud and discouraged its discussion on his site. (I also heard about 'conspiracy theorists' being expunged from his site.)

Now, since Representative Conyers has published a report about the 2004 election and (as I understand it) also posts to dailykos, has 'Kos changed his mind about election fraud?

that dirty politics was the name of the game and Kerry should have fought fire with fire...

I'm just wondering about this because his site seems to be an influential one that a lot of progressives read and participate in.

So if he discourages the idea of election fraud or other beliefs, I see that as a problem. I thought maybe the Conyers report might have changed his mind.

I don't want to speak for him but if I remember all that went down, he believes that election supression is a valid complaint but that voting machine fraud in the 2004 general election hasn't been proven. I think people just got pissed off that there were so many screaming voting machine fraud 24/7. And some of them were just vicious to other Kossacks.

Armando sent out the warning last night that the same stuff wouldn't be tolerated after Hackett's loss.

The machines are addressed in the Conyers report (I believe), so I hoped he would reconsider.

So do you think it was more a case of his wanting to stop the infighting, then?

7. Yes, that and other things...

Some of the people writing diaries were pushing stories that were so far out there they were embarrassing, and they hijacked the issue. John Conyers does still post over there so the problems haven't been completely swept under the rug. I think it's more that Kos has attempted to demolish the perception that voter fraud is a partisan issue put forth by whacked out liberals. Some folks wrote very clear and concise reports on voter suppression that Kos totally agreed with. Georgia10's report is first and foremost among those.

And let's face it, Kos is an important player in the party now. He has to be careful of how he's viewed by the media and by the bigger players in the party.
