Carter bashing LTTE in my local paper.
not available online

"If anyone should be ashamed, it should be the America of ex-president Jimmy Carter, not the other way around. This man has the gall to say how ashamed he is of America's involvement in Iraq, the Guantanamo Bay detention issue, and any a number of things his liberal mind has concocted.

Of all the people to be America-bashing, this guy should be dead last. Being the worst president that this nation has ever been, one would think he would have been humbled.

During his term this country was in utter turmoil, with the Irag hostage crisis, inflation beyond belief, gasoline prices through the roof and a military, which by his Democratic leadership, was cut to the bare bones.

Thank God for Ronald Reagan, who picked up the pieces and restored this country to what it once was. Its time for Carter to 'put a cork in his pie hole'."

i don't know but i think this guy is just a little angry. "..worst president that this nation has ever seen" ??? i beg to differ. now i need to try to compose a rebuttal and control my temper while i do so.

4. I like how he thinks it's all concocted.
Gotta love this grammar too: "Being the worst president that this nation has ever been"

And President Carter should be ashamed?

PS- Since when is George Bush America? Did I miss the memo?

6. Jimmy Carter would have been re-elected
If it weren't for that Scumbag Poppy Bush,Bill Casey and a 3rd person who in Oct.1980 went to Paris to meet with Iranian officials in hopes of keeping the 'Hostages" until after the election in Nov.1980...Trading with the enemy is a BUSH FAMILY TRAIT....

7. If Reagan had continued the energy programs started by Carter,
perhaps we would not be so dependent on oil. That in turn would negate our need to be in the Middle East and minimize Islamic discontent because we defile their Holy Land. Of course that's just my opinion.

8. If Carter's CAFE policy wouldn't have been stopped by raygun,
We would be independent of Middle East Oil and we wouldn't have lost 1800+ American Soldier's Lives. What an idiot!
I have to admit there are times when I am tempted to beat the sh** out
of these dumb ass republicans. I know a lot of em. Complete greedy dumb asses.

if they said "with the Irag hostage crisis" start there. Iran held hostages, not Iraq.

11. "Gas prices through the roof," huh?
And the Iran hostage crisis...refresh my memory - did that crisis kill 1800+ of our troops and hundreds of thousands of Iranians? The "crisis" wasn't Carter's fault anyway - it was our decades of support for the Shah that was the cause.

And I'm pretty sure Carter didn't cut the military - I've never heard that referenced before. He was only in for 4 years, anyway.

And don't get me started on "things his liberal mind has concocted." Yes, he CONCOCTED the things that he's critcising. They aren't really happening. Iraq is in his imagination, as is Gitmo.

That's the most poorly constructed letter and about the most deficient use of grammar I have seen in some time. Is there a link to this newspaper?

14. Nixon/Kissinger, Reagan/Bush resorted to treason to win their elections.
Both dealt directly with an enemy state, ex-officio, (North Vietnam/Iran) for political gain. It is well documented, but not widely reported. Nobody gives a shit. Carter was defeated by the works of treasonous bastards. Just like the 1968 Democratic ticket. Oops! Maybe their names did them in:

Hubert Horatio Humphrey
Edmund Sixtus Muskie

Horatio? Sixtus? Mama, what were you thinking?

17. Carter bashing seems to be an epidemic these days.
I got a hate-filled diatribe against him in my email this afternoon pretty much saying the same stuff as the nut in the letter you posted. I couldn't believe the utter hate and contempt spewed out in the email.

My response to the email I received was that it was despicable for an American to be subjected to this level of hatred by a fellow American simply because he exercised his constitutional right to freedom of speech.

20. that's funny, this is what I got when I googled "what is LTTE"
Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam: a terrorist organization in Sri Lanka that began in 1970 as a student protest over the limited university access for Tamil students; currently seeks to establish an independent Tamil state called Eelam; relies on guerilla strategy including terrorist tactics that target key government and military personnel; "the Tamil Tigers perfected suicide bombing as a weapon of war"

22. Brought honesty
to the whitehouse. (I use this when repubs start talking morals.) To me he always was a true American Hero. I always try to remind them when he brought true Christian values to the Whitehouse the repubs crucified him in the media. After the whitehouse he has continued work to help people. Not just sit on his butt in Kennebunkport (SP?)
