I don't doubt that it's being looked into, that would be the normal thing to do. Drudge knows this and is just taking it out of context in my opinion.

If Roberts were nominated by a Democratic president the press would still be looking into it, that's how you ferret out a story. More often than not there's not going to be anything to find, but you still check.
