Yep, that's what ol' Drudge boy is doing. All he has to do is float an unsubstantiated rumor that the NY Times is investigating the adoption of 2 children by Supreme Court nominee John Roberts, and web news-sites and blogs from all sections of the political spectrum go BATSHIT. Why, Drudge might even set a record today for individual hits. Cha-CHING $$$ ca-CHING!! And all because of an unproven, unsubstantiated and quite possibly false rumor spread by he-who-wears-his-hat-to-bed.
Has anyone outside the web-sphere or the media fringe mentioned this story? No. Has the NY Times confirmed or denied it?? No. Is there any independent verification whatsoever of this hot-to-trot exclusive newsflash?? No.
So what if the NY Times IS checking out the public records of the adoptions? I imagine that the paper of record isn't the only operation looking into all sorts of aspects of the Roberts family's background, e. g. bank records, mortgages, voting registration records, anything that is a matter of public record. That goes for the Senate Judiciary Committee as well.
Give it a rest, folks. The truth will come out. And stop lining Matt's pockets.
