Once he was given the heads up that he would be questioned about the PLame outing, he was NOT going to sit there for the entire show.

He put this up and concocted an excuse to leave. He really does not want to be asked about Plame.

I do not think that Carville was in on it. He was being his normal snaky, entertaining self. (Gawd, he is ugly, but smart and experienced. he could probably play voldemort in the next movie.)

Novak is too smart to just lose it and say something so childish on the air. He's way too practiced and vile to blow up over something like Carville said.
