Will the famines in Africa ever end?

Will this suffering ever cease? What can we do to make this really stop once and for all?

1. Several things at a minimum

1. Better education in terms of resource use.
2. Less poverty
3. Less dictators

2. A lot of it has to do with GOvernment (IMO)

There has never (at far as I know) been a famine in any country that is democratic.

3. It will take some work

We need to guarantee clean water, clean food, education, and shelter.

I know it sounds obvious, but that's about it.

Actually putting it into practice will be harder, especially given the political situation there. I am starting to think more and more that this is not a job for the government's of the world, but rather the conscientious citizens that want to put these problems to rest once and for all.
