Podhoretz asks, "What else can we do?", regarding war on terror

After 9/11, all those people are intent on killing us all. It's just a minor inconvenience to have your bags searched, etc, in an attempt to find these terrorists before they kill again, paraphrasing Mr. Podhoretz. What else can we do?

First of all, the attacks happened on our airlines because of lack of security because they were more concerned about bottom line than securing the doors to the cockpits.

Second of all, all of this Homeland Security and national fear and paranoia is a creation of the fearful conservative mind. It is a boondoggle of taxpayer monies.

Everyone is not as fearful. Yes, we need to be aware as a people and our law enforcement people need to look out for these characters, but we don't need to surrender one iota of our freedoms.

The attack of 9/11 was not an attack by another nation. It was an attack by a few criminals that was mostly successful because of the incompetence of our leaders, mostly at the very top of government.

2. He was quite overwrought about "perceived" anti-Semitism.

He didn't let a couple of people finish their questions, before he started on wild rants accusing them of anti-Semitism. One person, in particular wanted to know why supporters of the war didn't go to the funerals of the war dead.

3. He said we were in Iraq to give it democracy....

I thought the pukes gave up on this line a few months ago. We are in Mid-east for the same reason a mother is on a school bus. We want to gain some control in the area.
