The new AP poll... Fascinating isn't it?
Approval of handling of Iraq war: 38%
People who say bush is honest: 48% (50% say he's dishonest)
Approval rating: 42% (55% disapprove)
People who see his confidence as arrogance: 56%

Meanwhile...

Two thirds see Bush as "strong and likeable".

Now isn't that just precious?

At least 5% of people think that Bush is bungling the Iraq war, and yet is "strong" at the same time.

At least 15% think that Bush is dishonest, yet "likeable".

At least 9% don't think that Bush is doing a good job at all, and yet they apparently think that is "likeable". And "strong".

And at least 23% just adore his arrogance.

2. Set the perception so they don't have to deal with reality....
The political opinion pole doesn't measure reality it sets an expectation of reality.
