Hannity deserves credit only for being savvy enough to translate his particular kind of venom into snakeoil enough people buy to sustain him. But he knows his days are numbered. The hatetalkers have crested. There are too many of them, their market is saturated, and their schtick is getting old and stale. Even their mentally challenged audiences are drifting away.
So, like many (too many) of our politicians, there is no courage for any convictions. They're moving to the middle in a desperate attempt to maintain their market share.
These guys don't really have any core beliefs. If their producers tell them that their market wants them to wear clown shoes and rhapsodize about how wonderful Michael Jackson is, that's what they'd do.
They're used car salesmen. Nothing more.

But if you have spent any time listening to Hannity, you can't help but notice that he seems to be TRULY committed to the cause, albeit it is the wrong cause, but this guy goes on tour, has book signings, visits troops at Walter Reed medical center...The guy is pretty fuckin dedicated in my view...he is just a fucking moron.

So, in a way, I think Hannity genuinely believes he is right, he a lunatic...although most of the talking heads I will admit are whores:

O'Reilly - Number one talking head whore.

13. You may be right about Hannity's sincerity

but, remember, he's become a commodity. Maybe he is genuine when he visits Walter Reed. And maybe he was told to visit Walter Reed because it helps sell Hannity, the product.
I'm cynical. You're less so. And, it's possible you have a better concept of who Hannity as a person really is.
I know Rush is manufactured. He was created by a radio station to fill a time slot. And his schtick worked. The angry white males found an outlet for their desperation and failed dreams. Rush's success was copied.
Apparently, Hannity's personal life is not exactly in alliance with his conservative Catholic values, either. And as a liberal who has been married for 27 years and raised two children, I resent being lectured on values from a divorced dad with girlfriend problems. That's his life. Fine. But when I get sermons from philanders like Newt, Hannity, and Rush, it makes me angry.
These people don't walk it like they talk it. As O'Reilly would say, when it comes to our "values"....shut up!

Don't get me wrong, I know the guy is in it for making Hannity look good and the money...

I just get the feeling from him that he truly is crazy and really believes that he is right and that the repubs can do no wrong...its scary really.

If he were a true conservative he would be all over Bush. Bush has grown the government rather than shrink it. There hasn't been a spending package that Bush has vetoed yet.
