Because no matter how big and tough he tries to be, no matter how much he struts, he is still a silly, small man in cowboy costume bits (when he isn't wearing Navy nomex, flight jackets or odd chunks of military athletic gear) who is afraid of horses. There were no chainsaws to cut brush on the frontier...there were only horses and muscle...he really is a weecowboy...
