Dean and Clark's Civil Union
Okay, FIRST of all, Salon's got a grammatical error in the headline (should be "Dean's and Clark's...").

But I digress...the opening sub-head to the story is:

"For now, at least, supporters of the two Democratic rivals are surprisingly cuddy"

Here:

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! You've not been to DU, have you, Michelle? "Cuddly" is hardly the word I'd use to describe the, um, "relationship" between Clark and Dean supporters on DU.

That's the best laugh I've had all day. Just thought I'd share.

1. The so-called grammatical error is interesting.
Dean's and Clark's Civil Union would mean that there were two civil unions, right?

3. What a frightening picture!
This is enough to tip me over to the Kerry side! (I admire Teresa Heinz a lot!)

4. lol! Don't do it! It's not worth it over a picture!
:D:D

I think Teresa Heinz is a great woman, also, btw. :)

Boa Noite. This is Teresa Heinz Kerry. I just got back home from representing John at the Congressional Black Caucus dinner and when I got caught up on the conversation. I agree with Larry. He seemed thoughtful, analytical, and patiently persistent. Those are all good qualities and I liked the fact that the tone of the chat was interesting and respectful. It is also great fun to read and I learn a lot about how people think … like this business of my husband being aloof. John suggested he was going to have his ``aloof gland’’ removed at the press conference before his prostate surgery in January. It broke up the press corps. When everyone sees him as I do, with little children, for example, he wins. John had a great day in Iowa Saturday with Sen. Ted and Vicki Kennedy. It is wonderful they went out with him. I was in Maine all day Friday after the great debate in New York. I think John did very well; particularly pointing out that our middle class needs help. They are the ones who are the steady workers, who pay the bills and pay the taxes, which keep our government going. They deserve leadership which matches their commitment and dedication, leadership which inspires and lifts us all.
Good night. Keep smiling, positive and steady. Teresa.

(not directed at anyone in this thread...yet)

I've been all over the country in the last couple of months, and have met hundreds and hundreds of Dean and Kerry and Kucinich fans...and more recently, a lot of Clark fans.

Campaign supporters in the flesh always are supportive of the other candidates. It is way way way rare to meet someone who will beat the shit out of another candidate.

So...do we have here

a) A bunch of dickheads

b) People who are brave in their anonymity

c) People working out serious emotional issues

d) Agitprop and purposeful attempts to divide the Left here on DU

You tell me.

All I know is that people I meet in the flesh DO NOT behave at all like the crazed shit-slinging monkey fuckheadedness that happens here.

Figure that one out and you've got a psychology dissertation.
