Why Don't We Just Start Considering Our Field of Candidates As A Team?
We need to start counting our blessings here at DU.

We have an excellent field of candidates who are helping each other grow and get better. It takes everyone in the field to polish the gem that will be the eventual winner.

There are things I like about each one and well as things I don't like about each one. Each one has strengths as well as weaknesses.

We are an inclusive party, which means it's much harder for us to come to consensus to where we need to go. Its harder for us, but I'm proud of the conscienticism of the process.

I think Sharpton sets the proper tone by welcoming people to the party, not questioning their loyalty.

I have started a series of "Show Your Love" threads so that we can start talking about the good things we got, so we can stop acting like crabs in a barrel.

Did it ever occur to the bashers that the people they are bashing are indispensable in helping create the people they support.

Come On DU. Now's not the time to come unhinged. We are on the verge of winning big. Let's chill out.

Let's support ALL of our candidates. SHOW YOUR LOVE!!! O8)

3. What an apt..
..user name you have!

You're exactly right, and that's what I try to keep in mind and why I won't read, or participate, in the bashing threads. I'll vote for Clinton's dead dog Buddy if he's the nominee, sweartogod. Meanwhile, the greater the diversity of ideas and programs and talking points and snappy lines right now, the better.

We'll know who the "good guys" are by who comes together to support the nominee next summer, who will release their delegates and spend time and effort campaigning for him (I have to assume him). This is a bigger deal than just one four-year term, and I really believe that those who actively help to defeat Bush will be remembered fondly by the voters in the future.

5. I was doubtful at first too. And a lot had to do with reading the bash
threads. But like you, I got fed up with it and just stopped reading them.

Every time I tried to say a good thing about a candidate, people would swarm in to say why he/she shouldn't be nominated.

After a while I stopped saying good things about anyone for fear of getting flamed.

I started a "Show Your Love" thread for Teddy Kennedy and only got about 43 replies including my kicks. We can do better than that.

We complain bitterly when democrats act wimpish, but when they stand up for us, we are no where to be seen.

Why do we constantly let the republicans determine who we should listen to? We let them choose our leaders for us.

Here's the link to "Show Your Love" for the CBC.

Here's to every one of our candidates. Thanks for putting up with so much ingratitude. :toast::toast::toast::toast:

We love ya. :grouphug:

4. Absolutely. And as far as attacks on candidates go..
..they're a normal, even essential, part of primary politics. We need to find out NOW if our nominee has a Teflon coating before we throw him against Rove & Co.

7. Looks like people are too busy bashing to bump this thread along.
But I'm going to keep kicking it, and tomorrow I gonna do another "show your love" for someone.
