I got flipped off for my bumper sticker tonight
Really startled me. A guy pulled up next to me honking and flipped me the bird. My sticker says "Draft Young Republicans". It's very rare, even in this Red State of Arizona that this happens to me. I put it on my car intentionally so I guess I should expect it but it still rattles me. I don't do anything to people with "W" stickers so I can't imagine why someone would be compelled to react so angrily to mine.

No real point here. I just want to commune with like-minded people because it makes me feel weird and scared when that happens.

I think I'm going to get some more bumper stickers, though.

6. Oh my god I love that bumper sticker!
I remember the thread that originated from, about the poster whose uncle was taking her bumper stickers off. Very nice.

Swamp Rat, I've emailed your graphics to all my friends and they love them! One had a Cheney Lizard picture blown up and she hung it up in her cubicle. You're like, famous, now. How does it feel?

I support the war in Iraq.
But I support my right not to fight it, More.

Or- I support the war in Iraq.
I'm more supportive of my right not to fight it.

make them think about the war, even if they responded that way. Who knows, if they see it and stuff like it enough, maybe an actual intelligent thought may enter their minds? :-) one can hope...

12. i am so thankful the guy who gave you the finger didn't go into any sort
of really bad road rage. these days any of that is possible, i think, with these crazed republicans. i read in a thread yesterday (or on friday, i forget which,) that tweety had a young republican as a guest on hardball friday night, and when tweety asked why he wasn't in iraq fighting the war which i keep telling people, it is not a war, it is an OCCUPATION, the young man answered that he was fighting other importnat wars here at home

yeah! out of the range of bullets in iraq and in the safety of bush's created homeland security our modern day american name for what the russians used to call the NKDV --police state

anyhow, i am glad you are safe. for myself, i am afraid to put anything on my car, or wear any t-shirts out in public, that might inflame any passionate crazed republican to do, who knows what dastardly act against my person or against my car or property.

i am AFRAID OF THEM.

Several of them live in my neighborhood.

you might say i am more afraid of them than of the threat of any terrosist coming my way.

15. I'm not afraid
They should be afraid of me and I think they are seeing stickers like "Draft Young Republicans" and other liberal stickers right next to my "Two Combat Tours Veteran" sticker. I put on such a nice smirk every time I see a pro-republican pull up beside me to get a better look at me. But I know they won't say anything. They're a bunch of chickens.

Maybe they live in the world where they just can't believe a member of US Military would "dare" to post such things. They believe all soldiers are republicans.

20. i admire your courage--and the fact that you are a combat veteran opposed
to the war... i hope you support JANE FONDA in her decision (somewhat posted) to protest the iraq war. i also believe she SHOULD HAVE NEVER APOLOGIZED for her protest of the VIETNAM WAR.

WAR IS RACKET so said Major General Smedley Butler and his was a very keen perception. it still applies today.

I do speak up against the war and against the bush administration whenever I can but I am afraid to put something in my car that would inspire a crazy rightwinger to violent road rage.

(a couple of neighbors and several cousins of mine now do not talk to me because of what they know my views about the bush administration and the OCCUPATION of iraq are).

I do e-mail newspapers, pundits, columnists, journalists, etc. expressing my views...and pointing out to them how they are failing in their job to seek and print the truth about the bush administration and in their duty to protect freedom of speech. that is my form of activism.

from one activist to another: i salute your form of activism! (but, I add: please be careful .

:patriot:

13. that is one of my favorite bumper sticker/t-shirt slogans
I have had similar happen to me.I was in DC for an anti-war protest one day i had wandered away from where the crowd was gathering prior to the rally before the march and as I passed this youngish father type with two small boys he looked at my "International Terrorist" t-shirt with Bushes face on it and he said real loud "nice t-shirt ASSHOLE" as he walked by. I was kind of floored that he behaved like that in front of his two small children.

I love "Draft Young Republicans". that is great!!

29. I have a small sign in my back window that reads
Air America Radio
940 AM

We are in a highly traveled tourist area and I figure I am doing my part to assist Democrats who are trying to locate the station, or introduce AAR to new listeners.
As a bonus, it really pisses off the wingnuts, and I can easily tell who they are because they gun and roar their huge pickups past my Saturn Vue like they are going to show me who is bigger and badder.
Please consider an AAR sticker because Air America Radio is one of the best ways we have of spreading the truth and/or refuting the lies.

32. They didn't like our Bush/Jesus Apocalype Now in OHIO
around election time, either. My husband got honked at, flipped off -- he carried a tire iron under the front seat.

I toy with putting my F the President on my car, but feel it's almost too dangerous in the twilight zone of Warren Co., epicenter of fraud in 2004. I did see a guy here with a No More Bush-IT sticker on his pickup, I was shocked!

I stick with my FW oval, and my Clark 08 bumper sticker, let them wonder what it stands for..."Doris, do you think that FW means what I think it means?"

33. Think of all the people who you have made think. Ignore them. They
try to control cartoons for kids. You are an adult. You have free speech. They'll just have to get used to the fact they are 'of one mind' and you think. It is very, very threatening to them. Better yet - get a body language thing at the ready that diffuses the situation. And then your laugh your ass off at them as you or they drive away. They think they are the most important people in the world. It is very sad.
