Dear God! Bush is declared a hero for saving those 7 Russians!
I picked up a friend of mine this morning at his house. We were on our way to breakfeast when his parents who big time Bush lovers declared Bush a hero for saving those 7 Russians in the submarine. It was a nice day & they know that I'm a bleeding heart liberal, so I just ignored them by rolling my eyes. The mother then said 'This should shut those liberals up for awhile!' I took this as a direct dig towrads me & told her,'Exactly how did Bush do this resuce mission while he's vacationing for the whole month in Crawford?!'When is this outs not on vacation? She mummbled something about 'liberal media' as if he's really not on vacation.Told me he doesn't take as much time as the news says he does. Then went on to tell me he's on "WORKING VACATION". Does anyone else here know of anybody or any company that extends a "WORKING VACATION PROGRAM?" I said this in a very sarcastic tone. My friend over ehard & began laughing his ass off. We then left. He promised me he would fill me in on mom's rebuttals when he gets hom. I think my friend is gonna get an earful!

Sorry for the rant, but I needed to vent BIGTIME!

3. Mr.bush saved the submarine?
Edited on Sun Aug-07-05 03:22 PM by uppityperson
wow, I thought he was only clearing brush. How did he manage to save the submarine also? Maybe that's why he couldn't meet with Cindy yesterday, because he was recovering from his dramatic submarine rescue.

Edited to ask does your friend's mother know the difference between Great Britian and the USA?

5. LOL, you obviously didn't see the Daily show
they were reporting how everyone in the media was saying it "it was a miracle", until finally they found one broadcast that gave credit to the crew of the airplane, and the people on the ground

this is almost as good as operation "jump suit", where * lands on an aricraft carrier, and says mission accomplished

This is the same crap the was pulled in China under Mao. To show that he was strong and healthy they showed a picture of Mao swimming in the Yangzee river. It really was a superimposed image

This is the same tactics that we are using

you have to laugh at the morans in this country that believe this shit

6. Brit vehicle that cut them loose. US didn't participate in the rescue
according to a published AP report:

"The United States also dispatched a crew and three underwater vehicles to Kamchatka, but they never left the port." http://apnews.myway.com/article/20050807/D8BR07B80.html

you're a liberal and then saying disparaging things about liberals is not nice, not to mention rude. Hopefully she'll be excluded from future outings. You don't need the aggravation.

25. or she is a typical Kool Aid junkie. Anything good = b*sh did it.
Anything bad = liberals did it.

At least we are hearing less and less about Clinton causing everything that goes wrong. Perhaps they modified the additives in the Kool Aid and it no longer promotes the parroting of Clinton's name when the news is bad?

Rescue vehicle starts cutting free Russia mini-sub

MOSCOW (Reuters) - A British Scorpio rescue vehicle has started cutting free a Russian mini-submarine trapped 600 feet down in the Pacific, Interfax news agency reported on Sunday.
"It (the Scorpio) arrived at the AS-28 mini-submarine and at 0305 Moscow time (1905 EDT) started to cut the main cable keeping the underwater machine in the deep," Interfax quoted Alexander Kosolapov, the head of the Russian Pacific Fleet press service as saying.

21. It was a British Scorpio - what planet does she live on?
Bush had nothing to do with it. Your friend's parents sound like something out of Orwell's "1984".

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/4128716.stm

The British Scorpio craft, an unmanned underwater robot, sliced through nets entangling the submarine, stranded for three days beneath the Pacific Ocean.

<snip>

"Britain has a world-leading capability in the field of submarine rescue and we have been able to utilise that capability to save lives.

The rescue team included members of staff from Cumbria and west Scotland employed by specialist marine firm James Fisher Rumic.

<snip>

The Scorpio was accompanied by an operating crew of eight civilians and one Royal Navy member - as well as 20 other staff, including British police officers.

24. RWingers grasping at straws to give him credit, in light of Iraq tragedies
Pathetic that they try to give credit to Bush for something positive since everything connected to him has been a huge failure. Surprised they weren't touting our great economy and all the great high paying jobs under Bush too.

31. Whaay he personally cut them Russky's out with his chain saw!
Edited on Sun Aug-07-05 03:54 PM by theHandpuppet
Once that commie tin can was opened, little Barney dove in and pulled those suckers out one by one with his teeth. Then "Little House on the Ranch" Laura gave them all CPR and them Russky's gave her a big thanks 'cause they needed a good shot of vodka, seein' what they had been through and all.

Afterwards they all had a big press conference tigether, only those Russky's couldn't understand why Scottie insisted they all do interviews with him sitting on their laps. Condileezer praised her husband for his selfless courage and humbly suggested they could name another Russky ship after her to honor the occasion.

Meanwhile, Donald Rumsfeld insisted the Russky sub wasn't sinking at all, it was simply preservering on the bottom and would have surfaced eventually anyway. Dick Cheney had no comment but rumor has it he was miffed that the Russky sub was sniffin' round so close to his undersea bunker near Patrovpavlovsk-Kamchatsky.

BTW, I heard tell even Grover Norquist was there, but since he was dressed as Ronnie Reagan everyone thought they had seen a ghost.
