2. Other........
The "Real World" went too far right from it's inception. Anyone who thinks this show resembles the real world in any way, is an idiot. It's sensationalist bullshit, choreographed and spurred along behind the scenes by the MTV Producers to achieve the desired affect of completely fucking up an entire generation of teenagers.
Parents should guard their kids from this bullshit. I'm not talking about censorship, I'm talking about common sense.
The Real World, indeed. :eyes:

5. Nice to see another Pogo fan on here!
The Real World was passable in its first two seasons, but once everyone learned that being on this show was great exposure, and a possible route to some kind of stardom, they started gaming the system.

"Puck," an obvious character created by an actor to draw attention to himself, ruined RW3, and destroyed any hope the series had. Since then, they've felt the need to constantly top themselves and get more outrageous.

16. VH1 Exposed Reality TV
About a year or two ago VH1 did a show that exposed reality tv shows like "The Real World". The show pointed out that the confessional scenes that are shown on "The Real World" are actually segments where the producers ask the cast members questions. In other words the cast members are not really just talking into a camera they are being asked certain questions about certain people and certain things. They also pointed out that the producers do actually cut the video to put forward a particular plot theme. They even pointed out that the reality tv show "Class Reunion" had kids from different graduation years even though the producers tried to pass all the kids off as if they had graduated in the same year.

admitted in interviews just what you said. they often take one real world member aside and egg him on to cause drama with another.

6. Yeah, but he didn't die on the show.
He died after it had aired. AND the kid made something of his life (as an AIDS activist and volunteer) and used the platform of the show to advance a worthy cause.

7. Right
I think his name was Pablo - from Real World San Fran (the one with Puck on it). It's gone down hill so far. I seriously never watch MTV anymore - at all. I used to watch it a lot in my younger teenage years (13-15) but it's all crap now. Real World San Diego was awful - just getting worse and worse.

9. I've watched a total of maybe, just maybe an hour of MTV in my...
whole life. They took something that was good, rock music, and turned it into one of the squarest things imaginable, a TV show. Unforgivable.
I have no idea why any self-respecting 'rebellious youth' ever went along with it.

19. The Used to; not too much Now
When the channel first came on the air they played mainly videos, but when the reality tv craze came about they changed and dropped the videos, with exception to a few hours, and went mainly to reality tv shows like "The Real World", "Made", and "True Life".
