Dr. James Dobson is begging for your prayers for help!

Dr. James "Stem cell research is Nazism" Dobson is set to appear on Hannity & Colmes on Monday, August 8th.

His website, family.org, is instructing the universe to "Please ask the Lord to grace Dr. Dobson with wisdom, discernment and an ability to articulate the issues with clarity and strength."

Well, who can blame him? He'll need a lot of help since he's going to have to explain (if Sean lets Alan talk <*sigh*> and if Alan has backbone <*Sigh*> why he compared stem cell research to Nazism.

Yet another Republican double standard. Comparing forcing prisoners to urinate and defficate on themselves to Nazism is horrible, but stem cell research is OK. What hypocrites.

4. Why republican evangelical theology has no depth

Dobson, though not a formal preacher, is an example of why our television evangelists cannot preach sermons with depth in them and are left to resorting to form and sizzle above substance.

It's a false idea that God has set up a mortal circumstance where orthodoxy of belief and doctrine supported by inflexible adherance to a shallow spiritual absolute of scriptural innerancy are paramount to eternal progression - more paramount than the idea of existence as an on-going accumulation of wisdom. That circumstance relegates God, who is supposed to be all-wise, all-knowing and all everything, to merely a school master who has made of life a one-time-only final exam where your score is more important that what you've learned.
