Carville: Novak dodged 'barf bag'

Nothing gets tongues wagging more than an eruption on live television by a controversial political pundit, especially in the middle of a slow news day during a steamy summer.

As such, conservative CNN commentator Robert Novak set off aftershocks Thursday when he used a barnyard epithet, removed his microphone and stormed off the set of Inside Politics after some needling by liberal jouster James Carville over Rep. Katherine Harris, R.-Fla., and her chances of winning a Senate seat.

....

A copy of Who's Who sat on Henry's anchor desk Thursday, leading some bloggers to speculate that Novak suspected Henry planned to ask him about Plame's name in it and used Carville's remarks as an excuse to walk out.

That's how Carville saw it. "Bob's got a lot going on in his life, and that book was sitting on the desk like a barf bag, just waiting," he said.

6. I'm glad he's married to her
They obviously love each other - and their marriage shows politics can be business, not personal and nasty.

5. I wish Ed Henry would have blindsided Novak.
He deserves it. Too bad he was able to weasel his way out of it. Typical of a repuke.

10. Carville got it exactly right. Bob "The Weasel" Nofacts didn't want pinned
down on how he got Plame's name. His recent column hinted he "could" have found it in Who's Who while previously he said *someone* gave him the name.

11. Facts are like krytonite to the Repressive Right
Novak, slimy evil bastard that he is, isn't a complete moron. He saw the barf bag on the desk, put two and two together, and decided to bravely run away. I'm sure it was squirreling through his rancid little mind that he was going to have to remember what lie he'd told about going to Who's Who in America to get Valerie Plame's name, and that it was going to have to match up with the fact sitting there.

When it became apparent that he couldn't ferret out the relevant material from his overloaded neuron, it was time to skedaddle. Having heard the word so often from people who'd listened to him or read his columns over the years, the word "Bullshit" naturally came to him, and away he went.

13. DUers don't miss a thing -- that "Who's Who" was spotted real quick!
If only the press were as eagle-eyed, as curious, and as effective as this site!
