http://snappoll.com/poll/24926.php Over the weekend, I posted a link to a poll on the Democratic primary race in New Hampshire's 1st Congressional District, asking for support for my candidacy. Folks stepped up to the plate and put us way out in front.
Well, this morning the empire is striking back. The staff of Manchester Mayor Bob Baines is spending the morning voting repeatedly for "other", in the belief that this shows a groundswell of support for their Republicrat boss. They have confused cultivating netroots support with deleting a cookie and hitting a button time after time!
If you haven't voted yet, i hope you'll take ten seonds and vote this morning. For those of you who don't know the candidates, here's the quick run-down:
"Other": A placeholder for Bob Baines, the mayor of Manchester. Baines is a marginal Democrat. He is attempting to condemn low-income housing to flip the property to a shopping plaza developer; he has refused to protect the last remaining wetlands in the city's Hackett Hill area; and he conspired with Tyson Foods to buy out a packing plant so that he could turn the land over to a campaign contributor, leaving 500 people (mainly immigrants from the Dominican Republic and Bosnia) without work.
Gary Dodds: A pleasant chap who unfortunately backed right winger Bob Smith over Democrat Dick Swett for the US Senate. he has lost several races for the state legislature.
Bill Henderson: Who knows. Might not even exist. Not to be confused with Rickey Henderson or Florence Henderson.
Peter Sullivan (me): Third-term state representative; sponsor of legislation in areas of crime victim rights, mercury reduction, lobbying reform, and alternative energy. A moderate Democrat with a fiery campaign style, who isn't afraid to stand up to a mediocre Republican incumbent or to the Dems who seem to forget whose side they are on.
It's time to put the status-quo crowd back in their place.
I think you know what to do!
