Ambassador Joseph Wilson is a patriotic hero of the highest order.
Just watched yet another repeat of his damning accusations regarding "the leak," and I have to say that this man is an absolute hero, and deserves every ounce of our respect and support.

Here's a guy who, through his consistent, intelligent and vocal attacks on the Bush Doctrine vis-a-vis Iraq, has sacrificed more in his personal life than most of us here could imagine. His wife's life is now in danger, they probably won't be able to travel again, and one can only speculate as to what has happened to her former associates abroad. All of this happened to him simply because he was a vocal, and credible, critic of the Bush Administration. What has happened to him is shocking, disgusting, and criminal. If it is proven that anyone in the White House had a role in this, that damned son of a bitch should accept the point at which the buck stops, and he should accept his impeachment. Quickly, succinctly. Their position here is absolutely indefensible.

Ambassador Wilson on ABC World News Now:

"This White House came to office on a platform of restoring honor and dignity to the White House. What they did with respect to my wife and my family was neither, and even in the context of bare-knuckled Washington politics, this was a real low blow."

(It was interesting to watch him scrolling through Josh Marshall's Talking Points Memo online just before he spoke.)

So, as this story continues to grow legs over the next few days, let's be sure to remember Ambassador Wilson and the sacrifices and his family have endured, all in the name of a quest for honest disclosure, and out of a desire to serve their country, and because they wanted the best for their countrymen.

As soon as their offices open in the morning, each of us should be faxing, phoning, and emailing our congressional representatives. Do it for Ambassador Wilson and his family.

1. done, honey.
I loved him the first time I saw him because he had something that bush will never have: integrity, brains and guts.

2. You know, until this story broke....
... I thought I was well aware of the lengths this criminal administration would go to to get what they want, and to teach a lesson to those who disagree with them.

It appears that I had no idea.

And in our emails and phone calls and letters, let's be sure to quote these two gems, courtesy of the resourceful Josh Marshall:

Sources close to the former president say Rove was fired from the 1992 Bush presidential campaign after he planted a negative story with columnist Robert Novak about dissatisfaction with campaign fundraising chief and Bush loyalist Robert Mosbacher Jr. It was smoked out, and he was summarily ousted.

We need more human intelligence. That means we need more protection for the methods we use to gather intelligence and more protection for our sources, particularly our human sources, people that are risking their lives for their country. Even though I'm a tranquil guy now at this stage of my life, I have nothing but contempt and anger for those who betray the trust by exposing the name of our sources. They are, in my view, the most insidious, of traitors.

Oh yes, and don't forget our boys over at Crossfire. Let's get those emails going. I don't ever care to see Bob Novak's self-satisfied mug on my television again. This man is a disgrace to his nation, and his over-the-top efforts to endanger the life of a CIA operative, at the request of the top echelons of government, undermines every single pro-Bush and pro-patriotism argument he's ever (poorly) assembled.

Fuming, and energized,
Jennifer
