Why?
Edited on Mon Aug-08-05 07:33 PM by ck4829
Why is the RW so focused on abortion?

There are children going hungry.

There are people dying of AIDS.

There is corruption in the government.

Seriously, did the RW'ers come together and say "Let's see if we can get people focused on a private and personal matter, call it moral values or family values, and get the Electorate to no longer care about National Security, the Economy, and Corruption (where a true test of a person's moral values is at), but instead get them to only vote for a person whose Religion and religious values are the same as the Voter"?

1. Also, I think being against abortion is
a way to oppress women, and refuse to recognize their right to their own bodies.

Remember the 14 defining characteristics of fascism:

5. Rampant Sexism - The governments of fascist nations tend to be almost exclusively male-dominated. Under fascist regimes, traditional gender roles are made more rigid. Divorce, abortion and homosexuality are suppressed and the state is represented as the ultimate guardian of the family institution.

3. It's classic Rove strategy.
Find an issue that divides the nation and use it as a wedge. The RW'ers in charge could give a rats ass about abortion. In fact, I completely believe that the LAST thing they want is for Rowe vs Wade to be overturned. If it was, they'd lose their wedge issue.

Ever notice how repukes keep on using the issue for their base, yet never actually do anything about it?

Yup...just keep on leading the mice with cheese, giving 'em a little nibble here and there. It's worked for years.

4. They don't care about people once they are born...
You don't see many of them adopting these "unwanted" children, do you??

Hypocrites...
