8. Could be, but
I was stunned(for lack of a better word) when I went to their site and read their articles on the War On Terror. I couldn't believe the articles were written by Democrats.
I think they are fuckin' elitists, unconcerned with real Democratic ideas. How else to continue to support a war based on bogus information.
They don't have any facility for comments for the great unwashed mass, because they don't want it. The great unwashed masses don't contribute large monies, just votes.
A message board could be policed, just as this board is policed. Freepers don't overrun this board.
I have unknowingly supported DLCers in the past. I'm from California, and Feinstein is a DLCer. Never again. If I am forced to choose between a DLCer and a real repuke, I'll abstain.
Am I being foolish? Maybe. Am I being unreasonable? Not in least. Actions have consequences, for me and for DLCers. I don't think of myself as a far left pollyanna. I consider myself a moderate. Being a moderate doesn't mean I have to blindly support every idiotic, bogus war.

12. I don't think the Democratic party...
is as organized as DU, frankly, when it comes to maintaining a website and keeping the freeps out. For all everyone talks about Howard Dean reinventing the internet for political purposes, I've seen very few Democratic party/candidate websites that were ever REMOTELY up to date, let alone realizing the potential of providing timely and immediate information. I worked on my local Kerry site as a volunteer for the campaign, and it was like pulling teeth to get ANY information about local events and stuff to add to the site.

I'll have to check their other content that you pointed out...

4. The DLC doesn't want to actually hear Democrats ...
discussing the issues. That would interfere with what they are being ordered to do by corporate lobbyists.

No discussion boards. So symbolic.

6. that is my impression. Seems they want everyone to bend in their
direction but I see them making no changes themselves.

7. Don't we have enough people to fight? We have to turn on our own?
With the bush thugs ruling the White House and the republicans destroying Congress? WHY? WHY? Why do we have to fight amoung ourselves?!?! It is self defeating at best!

9. Because the DLC has proven time and again
That they're not on our side, rather that they're just another part of the two party/same corporate master system of government.

The DLC only pays attention to people with money. If you're not of the monied class, then they don't give a damn what you think or who you vote for.

Quite frankly the DLC is not one of our own, they have been the enemy of the common person for some time.

11. Nomad, have you noticed the DLC has already crowned Hillary for 08?
Do you know they have given her the reigns to craft the Democratic platform?

They don't even have a forum for the people, the grassroots, to make a sound.

What's democratic about that?

10. Another indication that the DLC is outdated
in their electronic approach and ability to connect with the net and grassroots. It also reflects a dated corporate leadership style of "command and control". Contrast that with the much more collaborative and progressive thinking on the Left that allows feedback and dissent on the popular progressive political websites.
