Seiko Fujimoto won't touch watermelons.

They only remind her that she failed nearly six decades ago to satisfy her little brother's final craving, for watermelon, as he lay dying of leukemia in a Tokyo hospital.

"My father and I looked all over (the city) but couldn't find any watermelons," said Fujimoto, who was 7 when her brother died in 1949, a casualty of fallout from the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima on Aug. 6, 1945.
