I spoke to Kay and Ann Wright. I did verify from Kay that it's going to take 2-3 days to get paypal set up for the Peace house. The phones should be on now, but bear in mind that manpower is spread thin right now, so lets not deluge them.. They are all sinking their heels in and dont feel this is gonna end anytime soon. If you are hesitating on heading out till you find out what happens on Thursday, don't.

I know alot of you have money burning holes in your pockets to help with all of this. In the interim, you guys may want to think about donating through Cindy's organization, http://www.gsfp.org - personally, Im donating through them because Id like to know that Cindy will have the funds to carry her through not just this, but what comes after. Everything is going well, but is hectic. I got cut off because they were expecting a NY Times interview and there was a beep :) They say that the 2 things they need are: MONEY and PEOPLE! - not nessecarily in that order..

For those like me, that were worried about what happens if they get kicked off the property, the place to go is the Peace House and they are working on the legal stuff on the backend as we all type.

Do not be fooled by the doubters that say Cindy doesnt want people coming... they want everyone to come!

I also know there are alot of DUers associated with this... can we all make ourselves known to each other so we arent all running around like a chicken with our heads cut off?

For those of you who cant come would any of you be interested in holding solidarity vigils across the nation? Even if its just you and some candles on a street corner, it would be such good power to send Cindy's way. I know Code Pink sent an alert out for hunger strikes... how about just handing out a flyer with information on the war? How about sending email blasts out to all of your local papers? Government leaders- both democratic and republican... How about listing a skill you have in this thread that you think may be useful to the effort and are willing to provide.. art, the web, logistics, writing (press releases, form letters), large format printing, etc...

Its awesome to have so many people that want to give on one site! Let's get organized so that we can really help them, not just add to the craziness going on down there.

Whew.. you have to call the city hall to get the right number.. heh, and they sure didnt want me coming to protest. He asked me a few times why I was coming and told me the falls were closed and how I really didnt wanna be out there.. yadda yadda.. I told him I was looking for about 20 tent sites and a few rv sites... he said they have plenty of availability. However we cannot protest in the park :)

Im trying to amass as much as I can into one central resource. Id love to go out to Crawford on Friday with a binder that says, this is what we did, we sent these form letters to all representatives, we emailed this letter to all our friends.. we have protestors in xyz locations all over the US carrying this torch.. yadda yadda.

If we can get the information cohesive on solidarity protests and to the folks in Crawford, I bet they could pass it to the media.

Good for you! I remember the first resume I sent out with a boiler plate cover letter. My mother said I needed to spend the extra time or nobody was going to hire me.

She was right. But in these situations its often hard to personalize for every senator, every paper.. so I try to make a few different templates for different groups.
