I had a software problem and now cannot ssh into the server. The ISP is fixing it, but will likely have to take it offline to do so.

Just to forestall speculation, this was NOT an external attack, but a bug that happened when I used the Debian Linux tool dselect to install a couple of bits of software I needed.
