YET ANOTHER SOLDIER Speaks Truth About Bush & Iraq War!!

<SNIP>
One day a nurse came in to ask Rodgers if he wanted to meet President Bush, who was visiting the hospital. Rodgers declined.

"I don't want anything to do with him," he explains. "My belief is that his ego is getting people killed and mutilated for no reason -- just his ego and his reputation. If we really wanted to, we could pull out of Iraq. Maybe not completely but enough that we wouldn't be losing people -- at least not at this rate. So I think he himself is responsible for quite a few American deaths."

Bill Swisher, a spokesman for Walter Reed, says it's "fairly common" for patients to decline to see visitors. "We've had visitors from Sheryl Crow to Hulk Hogan," he says, but he has no idea how many have refused to see Bush, who has visited the hospital eight times.

Rodgers says he also declined to meet Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld and Condoleezza Rice. This wounded soldier has lost faith in his leaders, and he no longer believes their repeated assurances of victory.
<SNIP>

Gee, let's see. These brave men and women (VERY brave I mean) are THE MOST PATRIOTIC people in America today. They did THE MOST patriotic thing in going to war to serve our country. I find it VERY TELLING that these people are the very FIRST to speak the truth about Bush and the Iraq war. And you know what? I support them 100%.

Just goes to show how so many conservatives and freepers can be SO WRONG in criticizing Cindy and our troops when clearly these people are speaking the TRUTH regarding the Bush Administration and the Iraq war.

1. The Military contacts I know, both hates Bush. One got out only 2 months
ago; served in 5 campaigns over 20 years. "Bush has been the worst"

The other serves on a nuke sub.. once respected Bush, now hates him for his actions and misguided decisions

5. My military contact (nephew) is an officer (West Point grad)) and
loves Bush. Just for starters, he thinks National Guard and Reserve members complain too much and need to just buckup and do their job.

It goes without saying that he will not be anywhere near the mid-east at any point of his career. After he retires from the army he plans to run for congress and thinks he will one day be President.

He believes his aunt and all other Democrats hate America. After he told me that a few weeks ago I told him that when he runs for public office he will need to keep me away from the cameras because I would not vote for him and would happily give the reasons why. He is so arrogant that he thought I was kidding - I am so not kidding.

13. Military Fairy
Loves combat, as long as he's not involved.

And I apologize to the GLBT community -- I didn't coin the phrase.

everyone else. His West Point experience just confirmed his political views. He is a natural bully.

One year at Christmas when he was home from West Point he was really going after Clinton (Pres at the time)and the entire family just let it go on and on. Finally I reminded him that Clinton was his Commander and Chief and he needed to knock it off because what he was saying was not factual. Everyone just looked at their feet, afraid to confront him.

His need to bully and his arrogant attitude is actually a result of his own insecurities.

The army is a natural fit for people with his personality.

7. They're not misguided though
Edited on Wed Aug-10-05 12:20 PM by FreedomAngel82
They were deliberately misguided. My grandfather was a navy vet and he didn't like Bush at all but he loved FDR. Whenever he spoke of FDR he had sparkles in his eyes. :) When he spoke of Bush he had annoyance in his eyes. I think veterans who have experienced war know what Bush is about. My grandfather didn't experience war (his half-brothers went to WW2 instead of him) but he was active.

3. Ann Wright was the speaker at the Houston DSM Teach-In
She said that all of the signs are there. The people on the ground are not happy. They don't want to be there, they know they are there for lies. They can't speak out because they will be court martialed if they do.

I'm not saying that all of the personnel in Iraq feel this way of course, but she indicated that there were a lot that do.

4. As more and more people come home
expect the chorus to rise.

Troops are re-enlisting due to fears about their deployed comrades, not out of duty to **. Some are re-upping because their families need the $$ Bunnypants so shrewdly offers in this time of desperation.

But the survivors will speak out in time, and I hope that America is ready to listen.

10. I think it'll be like Vietnam
I think it'll be like that. They'll join Cindy and the others and we'll all be on the same side. I'm sure there will be another John O'Neil somewhere.

16. Thanks for the story...

It is very good to hear that soldiers are speaking out and refusing to meet with Bush.

Although if I were that soldier, it would be very tempting to agree to the meeting, so that I might get a few things of my chest.

I'm surprised that the soldiers are not hand picked and screened before meeting with him.

17. They should listen to them.....
One would be very wise, as we're not interested in their traitorous ways.
