Something every media organization should do
http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/columns/story?columnist=solomon_george&id=2129844

ESPN has hired an ombudsman, or as they describe him, "the public's representative to ESPN, offering independent examination and analysis of ESPN's programming." He addresses complaints that come in and really makes substantive criticism and compliments of ESPN's coverage and programming.

So why is it that a sports news organization has the guts to put itself on the line to criticism, but none of the real news media organizations can? I think this is something that should be a standard practice. As a consumer, we should demand this sort of accountability in our media.

1. Most newspapers have an ombudsman
Well, I don't know if it's 'most', but many do.
