Here's The Latest I Have Received From The Folks On The Crawford Front.

I spoke to Hadi Jawad at the Peace House about an hour ago.

I wanted to see how things were going and what was needed today.

The news is very good. Hadi says folks are pouring into town from all over the country. This is really gathering some steam folks. They expect a bunch more to be there soon. They continue to urge people to come to Crawford and show your support for Cindy.

Efforts have also begun to encourage independent sympathy demonstrations around the nation. So, if you can't make it to Texas, consider organizing something locally.

Hadi said the food and water supplies are in good shape and what they really need right now are financial contributions.

This is about the most honest protest and movement I've ever seen it's no woder people are so skeptical, it's hard to recognize this level of honest humanity anymore. Its sad really. I say, when you give a guy on the corner with a sign some money cause he say's he'll work for food......dont be surprised if he buys a drink instead. This money will all be used for good, whether given directly to Cindy, given to the Peace House, other protesters in need, etc.

This whole thing has a good feeling about it and im going to trust my gut on this one.

It was actually in Crawford before Sheehan was there, to help any and all protests that happen in front of the "Western White House." Sheehan's just the latest thing they've dealt with. Been there, I believe, since the middle of his first term

16. Here's a note from the skeptic of all skeptics

One good way that you can decide for yourself is to contact the admins here at DU for confirmation. They don't readily permit calls for financial assistance to outside orgnaizations. If you contact them and also read the many, many threads about Peace House, you'll find ample information to help you determine legitimacy and feel comfortable with all this.

From what I've learned from reading since Cindy went to Crawford, Peace House is supporting Cindy's ability to remain in Crawford. But you don't know me from a hole in the wall. So, contact the admins, read the threads and good luck!

12. I just talked with a volunteer at the Crawford Peace House.

I am sending them a fax machine that I am not using. It is a nearly-new Brother FAX-560, but I don't have a manual for it. I think they can download a manual in PDF format, but if anybody has the same fax machine with a manual they can photocopy and mail to the Peace House I'm sure they would appreciate it.
