Limbaugh says Dean should hire him as his advisor....
With the radio on as I set in the back yard with morning coffee and pastry, Rushbo is in fine mettle as he pulls up the quotes of Dean on Face the Nation and those of Clark at the Repub event. He has taken "divide and conquer" to a new form. He takes the side of Dean over Clark, because Clark is a "Republican". His monologue takes more the anti-Clark mode than pro-Dean. However, his efforts will probably make it into the Propaganda Hall of Fame...

He focused his comments on Dean with his comments about the other candidates in the race having over 100 years of inside experience in Washington. They are "insiders" and Dean is an "outsider". And Clark has been picked by the Washington "insiders"...This is the type of crap that the el Rushbo is putting forth today.

6. Listening to rush is the best way to keep up with..
the repuke spin. By the end of the day if you watch the cable shows, you will hear the repukes all repeating rush's spin. There's no better way to know what your enemy is up to.

2. Dean should issue a statement...
...to the effect:

"I'd like to thank Rush for offering to provide me his unpaid support. I'd like to take the opportunity to employ him full time, on a volunteer basis, where he can best serve the country by sitting in a lazy-boy and shutting the hell up."

15. Well, the poor little pig man is going to be needing a job soon
along with 10,000,000 of the rest of us. I could almost feel sorry for him if he didn't contribute greatly to the mess we are in.

5. Rush Obviously Prefers Bush Run Against Dean Than Clark
The rest of this I leave as an exercise for the reader. :-)

13. Sure He Could Be
But if the entire RW establishment (including Novak, the Bush admin, Drudge, Will, etc.) is gunning for Clark, that seems to be a pretty clear indicator of who THEY think the biggest threat is.

Rush has gotten his marching orders from Rove, IMO, and Rove is just a bit sneakier and cannier than Rush.

It's also quite clear to me, as a pragmatic, that Clark is more electable than Dean. That's not to say Dean is NOT electable, it's just that Clark's status as both a military man and a Southerner will sell a lot better in the South, and in addition to that Clark's slam-dunk on foreign policy will completely demolish Shrub's supposed strength and claim to fame. In contrast, ALL of the Dems will score better on domestic and economic policy than Shrub.

8. Or Dean could play upon his reputation...
..."Rush wants me to PAY him so that he can advise me in how to be an angry white man? I'm thinking I don't really need his recommendations in that regard?"

17. Heard this myself
Well his advice is always the same (he's offered it to other candidates before and he'll do it again.)--become more Republican. The more Republican you are the better.

Of course this is a self defeating strategy; most analysis thus far says that the key to 2004 is the base, and a strategy of adopting republican ideals is a recipe for doom. More to the point, even for centrists, if they are offered the choice between two Republicans, one real and one pretending, what do you think they will pick?
