Latest hate crime targets Torah Academy

"For the second time in a week, a hate crime has occurred in the eastern Coachella Valley community of Palm Desert.

Shortly before 11 a.m. Monday, deputies with the Riverside County Sheriff's Department were called to The Torah Academy, 73-550 Santa Rosa Way, where portions of the property was defaced by vandals.

This incident comes about a week after residents of a Palm Desert neighborhood discovered racist and anti-gay graffiti painted on their houses and cars.

In the most recent incident, school staff discovered that vandals used black spray paint to deface a rear wall of the school, according to Dep. Tim Brause, a spokesman for the Riverside County Sheriff's Department."
