Did I just see Bill O'Reilly treat Dolores Kesterson with respect?

Bush has no conscience--that's what she says she took away from her meeting with him after her son was killed in Iraq. O'Reilly did not interrupt or bully her.

O'Reilly introduced Dolores Kesterton who did not bend or back down throughout the interview. Her son Eric died in Iraq and had been an unwavering supporter of the administration. Kesterson claimed that she had been against going into Iraq because she believed we should have finished the job in Afghanistan.Although O'Reilly tried to intimidate her into saying that Eric had died for a noble cause, Dolores would not give an inch.

Kesterson went on to describe the meeting she had with Bush after her son's death. She requested time alone with him and was granted three minutes in a tiny cubicle. According to Kesterson, Bush marched in and "was in my face"

"I'm George Bush, President of the United States and I understand that you have something to say to me in private."
Kesterson was not impressed with the meeting claiming that Bush did not seem to care.

At this point O'Reilly decided to use the lecture/soliloquy technique.
Using his fatherly tone he told Dolores that he respected her opinion but didn't want to see her used like Cindy Sheehan.
"I think Cindy Sheehan is being used by far left elements who object to our way of life. Everyone knows. Hillary Clinton knows"

Kesterson firmly objected to the notion of being used and O'Reilly started to get steamed attacking Michael Moore and the Fenton Group who writes Cindy's press releases. Fenton Communications is a very well established PR firm and O'Reilly's attack on them was nonsense.

Then he peppered her with a string of bizarre questions.

"Do you believe that we're a bad country and evil country?"
"Do you have Michael Moore's view of the U.S.?"
"If you had to choose, would you go with President Bush or Michael Moore?"

Dolores Kesterson without a moments hestitation gave her answer.
" Michael Moore has not killed thousands."

Just long enough to hear him say that Michael Moore is telling Cindy what to say. Then I switched back to TDS. What a tool.

Dolores: Saddam didn't attack us.

Oreilly: Well, he attacked Kuwait.

Dolores: Then, if he was such a big problem, why didn't we take care of him back when he scorched the earth and killed his own people? We let him fly those helicopters and gas the Kurds.


I'm paraphrasing but that's very close to what she said. She was GOOD for being put on the hotseat by that slimeball.

28. I ha ve probably watched a total of 10 minute of

o'reilly, but tonight I stayed as long as I could. And this lady was wonderful. And I swear that at one point she rolled her eyes just slightly, but it was so appropriate.

I am on vacation starting tomorrow and I have considered driving down to Crawford, but my daughter is struggling with depression and a week ago attempted suicide, so I don't dare leave right now.

But rest assured I am watching and living vicariously through Cindy and those who are able to join her. I am learning from her courage and by her intelligence in how she answers all the ugly questions directed towards her.

30. I don't know you circumstances, but would your daughter go with

you. It might just be the thing that could help her with her depression. I'm not trying to butt in, but a lady I know decided to go and was so excited that her 17 yr old daughter wanted to go with her. What an adventure for them both. I hope your daughter comes to grip with her depression and if she doesn't want to go, then, yes, you absolutely stay with her. You're daughter comes first with you I can tell, as well she should. Good luck.
