The goudging has not even really begun yet. Talking head on CBS's UTTM said that we have been very lucky and that in our future we should expect to pay what others have been paying which is $4 to $8 or $9 dollars a gallon.

...Do you think it is just a coincidence that this is going on with "oil men" in the White House?

Hell, it might even be $4.00 a gallon, and no I don't think this is a coincedence.

Who were the biggest contributors to Bush's first and second campaigns? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe it was the gas and oil industry.

I see "biodiesel" mentioned all the time around here as if it were
some sort of panacea. But do you *HONESTLY* believe there's enough
waste grease in the entire world to sustain the American "happy
motoring!" lifestyle?

Sure, biodiesel might fill the needs of a few individuals for now,
but onc ethe excrement really hits the ventilator, you won't be able
to get your grease; the poeple that produce it will burn it for
themselves.

It's gonna be a "Mad Max" world, and right soon. It ought to be pretty
damned amusing seeing Americans trying to cope with the changes that
are coming. (And yes, I say that knowing full well that many of us
may die of those changes. But at least I'll go out laughing.)

There's no real ceiling except when costs are so high that what's recouped from oil extraction is no longer sufficient to pay for the oil burned in such efforts. Then the house of cards collapses.

is comparing apples and oranges. Other countries put high taxes on the cost of gasoline so he is suggesting that we will pay as much as other countries but all the extra money goes to the oil companies.

9. The stupid "energy bill" has started the hikes...

It really helps us out when *'s breaks go to the oil companies, coal, and nuke plants. That's his idea of "alternative energy." So much for clean hyrdogen, solar, and renewable energy. No way to quit depending on Middle East oil (which I'm sure his Saudi buddies are loving). And no pressure on the U.S. car makers to up efficiency...Japan is leading on this (think Toyota and Honda with multiple hybrid models), and the "big three" lag far behind. So we're screwed on gas prices as long as this creep * is around to pad his oil pals. As soon as the Dems get control back, whether it's in midterms next year, or the WH in '08, expect some MAJOR reform on energy and environmental policy, because we sure as hell need it after this debacle of a bill.
