Is today the deadline given by Crawford police for Cindy Sheehan
...to leave or be arrested? If Cindy is arrested today or at some future date, what happens then?

1. I believe they said no one would be arrested...
unless they trespassed on private property or blocked the road. But then again thats only what they said.

3. They've probably decided that it's better to just
ignore her.

2. Cindy said in an interview with bloggers yesterday ...
the sherriff is being very nice to them, no one would be arrested today. Not by local LE anyway - we'll see what the SS does.

It was a smokescreen I'm sure. The town has given them an area to protest in town if needed, the high school.

4. When do kids start back to school there? (August 16)
Edited on Thu Aug-11-05 06:50 AM by Maddy McCall
Edit: They go back to school on Monday, August 16th, and their first football game is Friday, the 20th. There is no way the school will allow protesters on their grounds, neither at the high school nor the statium.

5. Will they say she is worst than the terrorist?
Or just that she up-sets our boy President.

6. I know rumors have been flying
back and forth, and I know nothing of the Sheriff except everyone seems to say he's been top notch.

I was just thinking though how much this must suck for the town. Given, the sheriff is probably seeing more action than he does in a year, but the overtime for police, bringing in outside cops, etc. This is got to be hurting their budget.

Bush, get off your ass and talk to her, stop raising your neighbor's property taxes.

10. Are you kidding, this is the most excitement they've seen in years
Plus its great for the local economy.

Beside, unlike DIMSON, the protesters are going to town to shop and eat and really getting to know people. This isn't your 60's hippy gang roaring into town tearing up the place, this is a bunch of mostly middle aged folks who are pleasant and respectful and are willing to pay for services. What people around the world are seeing are good, decent Americans who are willing to put their butts on the line to oppose this regime, while DIMSON cowers in his hidey hole.

11. You sound like you are close by
I love it! I know Crawford has a Democrat mayor and its newspaper endorsed John Kerry, but are the townspeople mostly Democrats? I find it interesting that the chimp bought this movie set ranch in a town run by Democrats. That has given me a laugh today.

13. Good for the local economy of the town north or south of Crawford
Crawford has very little. The biggest deal on the small Blink is a shop that has huge ten commandment props and a liberty bell, cardboard cutouts of Bush and autographed pics, among other souvenirs-not likely that any but the Bush tourists would frequent that place.

7. Even this cabal of assholes
aren't stupid enough to arrest her for peacefully protesting. They tried to scare her off, she stood up to them and gave them a big "bring it on", and in true bully fashion, they backed down and ran and hid behind their toadies (O'Reilly, Malkin, Limbaugh, etc.)

Right now, ShrubCo are trying to run out the clock. If Mrs. Sheehan follows him to DC at the end of August, watch the feces hit the fan. With nowhere to run and nowhere to hide, the panic will be palpable.
