when people hear "Sweet Neo Con"
Edited on Thu Aug-11-05 09:21 AM by Cocoa
will they wonder, wtf is a "neo con?"

It's a household word to us, but I think to most people the word means absoulutely nothing.

I noticed that none of the stories on this Stones song actually says even briefly what a "neo con" is.

But, depending on how good the song is, and how much air play it gets, it could cause some people to learn about some of the things many of us know about already. And now that the war's popularity is declining, maybe they'll be more open to seeing things "our" way.

1. Maybe they'll think the Stones are protesting the suckiness of...
...the last two Matrix movies.

10. No. It foreshadowed the suckiness of the third.
And you know what? I think the third one sucked a bit less. But that's just me.

2. I'm just guessing here, but I'm thinking it's not going to be getting
a lot of airplay on Clear Channel stations. Call me crazy......

3. Even if it sucks, I think I might buy it.
I recommend that everyone should see them live, though. I've seen them twice, and they never disappoint the crowd.

4. The great advantage of Neo-Conservativism
is that it is a semantically meaningless phrase. Whenever I try to explain to my friends what Neo-Conservative means, I end up getting ot talking about examples in about thirty seconds.

Talking about Neo-Conservative foreign policy is easier - It's pretty clear what their foreign policy goals are (conquer the middle east, force them to become western style democracies, enjoy freedom and pancakes in a new world); but other than that it's hard to pin them down.

9. Some freepers think we invented the term and it doesn't mean much.
Somebody here linked to Free Republic yesterday where the subject came up. I sensed an effort to keep the "paleo conservatives" or Goldwater-era conservatives from acknowledging how they've been hijacked.
