Remember Lila Libscomb? The mother from F 9/11??
Edited on Thu Aug-11-05 10:31 AM by KarenInMA
Is she a memeber of "Gold Star Mother's for Peace"?

She should head to Crawford.

edit- I think it would give her some peace. I'm not telling her what to do.

3. She was a poor working woman ...
My guess is she's working ... if she still has a job in this economy!

12. I wonder...

2. She "should" head to Crawford? WTF?
What she "should" do is whatever the damned hell she feels like doing! For anyone here to tell her what she "should" do is just simply beyond the pale. Nobody here knows ANYTHING about what is going on in her life right now, and they deem to tell her what she "should" do.

Seems to me that she's been doing her fair share of trying to deal with the grief surrounding her son's death while raising questions surrounding the legitimacy of the war he died in -- a war she initially supported.

Those who spout off high-and-mighty pronouncements like this should just think for a second before making themselves appear to be completely insensitive assholes.

4. ok...try the decaf...
I not making a moral pronouncement, or telling anyone what to do.

I think it would help her find some peace.

Geesh.

11. I'm sure she knows that it's going on...
She's a member of MFSO, after all.

If you're not making moral pronouncements, then don't use the word "should". Phrase your statement along the lines suggested by bryant69, below. That way there's no misunderstanding.

The way you stated is was simply that she should go to Crawford. I interpreted that as a moral pronouncement, and I don't think my interpretation was a stretch based upon what you wrote.

8. No, I don't think so...
I just get sick and tired of pronouncements from people sitting behind keyboards about what others "should" and "shouldn't" do, that's all.

6. Fair point. I have the same reaction when people talk about what
Air America Radio should be doing on a day to day basis - you don't know what's going on behind the scenes to cause them to do a best of show.

It would be much better phrased "It would be nice if Ms. Liscomb could head to Crawford"

9. aw jeez
maybe the "should" isn't a command.

maybe its like "you know what would be cool? lila lipscomb should go to crawford & lend her voice & moral authority to cindy sheehan's cause. make it a movement that bush would not be able to ignore or co-opt. wouldn't that be cool?"

13. I was wondering about Lila also.
But in response to post #2, the author was not trying to dictate what she should be doing with her life. Just simply that Lila was so prominent in F-9/11 and now Cindy is becoming prominent as well. The two just seem like a growing chorus of mothers who (sadly) have lost their sons and/or daughters in this unjust, illegal war for oil profits.

Maybe you would rather have had the original post say "It would be COOL if Lila showed up" or something.

Anyhow, no harm meant!
