Televised media and the Cindy Sheehan coverage
I have not seen any coverage today about the Cindy Sheehan. Plus, when I turned pass CNN, the anchor (whose name escapes me), just mention it in passing, saying that it was an "Anti-war Protest"! I kinda found that a little disrespectful.

1. I hear ya, but what would you call it, in a brief way, so that the
audience could quickly get a handle on it?

2. I agree, but it's still problemattic
It's a matter of framing. Anti-War protesters are often seen as sixties burn-outs or college kids who have nothing better to do - more to the point, they are often seen as irrevelant. Neither of these assessments is fair (or accurate), but they do exist. So when you make what Ms. Sheehan is doing into a simple anti-war protest, well the story writes itselfs in peoples minds.

But I agree that given the lazy nature of our press corps and the lazy nature of our press consumers, it's probably about as good as you are going to get.

3. I was just saying...
They are making it seem it's just another political protest. I believe this protest is far from being a political one.

Maybe I am just wanting this to get more coverage than what it is getting. Ya know! Searching for a reason Cindy Sheehan should receive more exposure.
