Here's My New Anti-War Sign For My House! Got Signage?
Edited on Thu Aug-11-05 01:47 PM by DistressedAmerican
Just finished putting this up. I live on a second floor by a major road. It is quite visible.

It stays up until it is too weather beaten, this war ends, or I move out of the damn country!

I sure hope that it gives the customers at the Dunking Donuts across the street something to ponder over their morning coffee!

How about you? Are you sporting signage yet?

Post pics here if you have them!

ON EDIT: I have a page on my website full of tips and instructions on making cheap signs:
http://www.seedsofdoubt.com/distresseamerican/signs.htm

If you are interested in making your own!

5. Might want to get bullet proof windows
or stay out of sight. You know how these guys like to "debate" the issues in such a polite and civilized manner.

Very nice though. I like it.

8. We Are Pretty Blue Here. Actually Got Some Waves While Hanging It!
Not too worried. Although, It is where they can't get to it. Freepers are short like their president, right?

So, that could lead to more serious measures if they flip out!

No signs of that nature around here yet, but I am noticing "fresh" new Kerry/Edwards signs and bumper stickers daily.

10. Very nice!
I'm moving into an apartment tomorrow with a very convenient balcony that is visible from the road. I've been trying to decide exactly what sort of sign I'll be hanging from it.

12. Quick Tip. I Got All Of The Red While And Blue On Clearance Sale.
I bought bags of stuff for future use. Lost of flags of all sizes. Full sized ones for just a couple of bucks! It was like Christmas (without all that Jesus stuff).

Pays to keep the peepers open!

27. Better Check with your landlord
It may not be a big deal, but some apartment owners and/or managers have rules against tenants hanging anything form the balconies. It's a safety/aesthetic thing, rather than political. I had one who complained about beach towels I hung over my railing after I'd been to the pool.

Pretty much as described there. Except that I covered the whole thing with sheet plastic instead of packing tape.

17. Very nice DA.
My place is on a corner on a fairly busy road at rush hour, bit you'd miss the house if you didn't know it was there. My sign is going to have to be 8 x 10. Ya know what they say--the bigger, the better.

32. I have "1843" painted on my window.
It faces a State Highway coming into town.
People may slow down and look to see all the flowers and sunflowers growing out front.

Hope they see that number, that I have to scrape off and re-do with a higher number WAY too often....

33. Good For You! Sadly Many Wouldn't Know What It Meant.
Unhappy camper made a great sign that has plastic pockets to hold printed numbers for easy (but sad) updates.

Keep at it!
